This is the quintessence of Mid-Century Modern design. I could not find another like it, apart from the other one that I have up for sale separately. And using image search, I could not find or date it. It’s possible it is a retro or throwback design that came out in a later decade. But it certainly fits right in with the MCM or Japandi aesthetic. Bulb is for demonstration purposes only in photos. Bulb and shade are not included. You can have fun finding the perfect shade. It would work with many different styles of shade. This is approximately 15 inches in height, including the socket without a bulb in it. The socket at top is just the slightest bit of skew. I don’t think it would even be noticed once the shade is clamped onto the bulb. Or you could adjust that if you are handy with things but I don’t think you’d really need to. A wonderful piece of decor that will surely catch the eyes of your guests! I hope my photos did it justice and showed that it creates the illusion of a drip technique. That is actually the way the painter applied the gold to create that illusion. It’s a quite interesting effect visually.

Offered is a rare mid century modern clear lucite sculpture that also can be lit. Featured are etched trees with branches and leaves. We cannot fully read the signature. The sculpture is interesting to view from any angle, but we believe the illusion of two trees seen in photograph #1 was the artist’s preferred angle. It stands 11 inches overall and the light has a switch that allows it to be turned on and off. Overall the sculpture is in very good vintage condition.

ITEM : For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage atomic era table lamp. The framework of the lamp is iron. Each of the three arms that extend upward end in a small horizontal extension which the black metal saucer-shaped shade rests atop. At the center of the lamp is an off-white pierced metal cone that contains the light socket on the inside. The lamp has a round black metal base at the bottom, upon which is a standard rotary knob switch that is used to turn the lamp on/off. MEASUREMENTS : With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 19.5″ tall x 12.5″ wide x 12.5 deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the top of the lamp frame is approx. There is a distance of approx. 11 between each of the three extensions that the shade rests atop. The pierced white metal shade that contains the light socket is approx. 7″ tall x 5″ in diameter (measured across the top). The round black metal base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. CONDITION : Overall the lamp is in very good condition for its age. There are a few cosmetic things which we’ll mention now. First off, the round saucer shade has a small shallow dings to it. They were hard to photo, but if you look carefully they are there. The metal is somewhat lightweight and malleable, so they may be able to be worked out. They are shallow, and didn’t bother us, so we just left them alone. Next, the white conical shade has some light surface marks on it – we didn’t attempt to clean them, so we’re uncertain as to whether or not they’ll come off. They look like superficial marks on the paint (see photos). Otherwise, the lamp is in great shape and is in working order. Wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it’s in great shape – there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect before long-term use. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage atomic era table lamp. The base is constructed of iron, and there are two ceramic inserts, one rests at the very top and serves as a shallow dish – perhaps for some faux plants, and the other insert is also ceramic and encloses the light bulb. Both ceramic pieces are off-white in color, with thin black paint swirls throughout. The lamp stands approx. The ceramic dish / bowl at the top has a diameter of approx. 11, and it is approx. The ceramic encasement around the light bulb measures approx. 8″ tall x 6″ in diameter. The distance between the legs is approx. Condition: Excellent condition – no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, bends, dents, dings, etc. The interior side of the dish at the top shows some minor signs of light discoloration from age and use – nothing objectionable whatsoever (see photos)… We’re solely mentioning it for accuracy. The electrical wiring is in good condition – no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc, and it looks to be original to the lamp. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked prior to long-term use. NOTE : The lamp will be packaged with extreme care.
