Striking MCM Gold Spangled Black Metal Candle Stand Abstract Cubist Color Sculpture Unsigned This wonderful but unidentified piece with both striking shapes and colors is an iconic MCM Abstract Cubist Metal Sculpture and Candle Holder. Believed to date from the 1950s. A solid piece in very good condition for its age and use. ! Colors: Gold Spangled Black, Matte Green, a smokey Matte Cream White, a dark Orangey Metallic Copper Red and a Metallic less coppery Red. I found it impossible to do justice to the metallic glow in my photographs. Representative of the Atomic Era, with very earthy colors! Condition: Mid Century Modernism. Here and there are some small bumps or dents that appear to be from the time of manufacture as they do not show any greater wear than the surrounding areas. In excellent condition with no loose parts. There may be minor edge wear on the paint of some of the abstract shapes – but that may also simply be from the time this piece was created. I have not found another like it to compare it to. A beautiful piece, deeply reflective of the avant garde abstract movement period when it was created. Total Height: 17 1/2 inches 5 Candle holder’s heights from base: 17, 15 1/2, 13 1/2, 12, and 10 inches. Base is rectangular with rounded corners. Base Width 21 inches Base Depth: 4 inches Base height: 1/2 inch Candle holder bowl: 3 3/4 inches across Weight: 4 pounds 1 oz , There is a Gold sticker and a sticker with a Caution on the bottom of the base. The designer/ sculptor/ maker in unknown. While various manufacturers have used similar phrasing, this specific gold-foil sticker with the text This product made with safe paint. It seems iconic for the time period and yet I have not yet found another like it.

ITEM : For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage black wire / metal wall hanging sculpture depicting a whimsical chef’s head. Done in the style of Frederic Weinberg, but we’re not actually sure who designed it. Never before have we encountered one of these, and we probably never will again. 17″ tall x 13″ wide. CONDITION : Good vintage condition. There appears to be an old welding repair to the eye – seems it must have detached at one point in time, and was reattached. It’s on the back side, so it is not visible when viewing it hanging on a wall (see photos). Aside from that, just a little color loss, but nothing major at all (again, please examine the photos that accompany the listing). Displays really well, and is ready to be enjoyed in a new home. Offered for sale: Vintage TOM GREENE Midcentury Modernist Brutalist Metal Sculpture Signed RARE. This is a RARE find. Could be one if a kind!! Measures approximately 15.5 inches tall x 3.5 wide mounted on a fabulous square base. Makers mark on back panel of square. Back panel marked: ” 11-9 copy-write J 5-69″. Item is used and in good condition. Shows normal signs of wear consistent with age. Small scuffs, light scratches, etc. The is a slight bend in the stem. Not sure if this is how it was supposed to be. This can easily be straightened but I will leave this for its new owner to decide. Comes from a smoke and pet free home. Item: Vintage Tom Green Brutalist Sculpture. 15.5″ Tall x 3.5″ wide. Style: MCM, Brutalist, Modern.

ITEM : For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage atomic era table lamp. The framework of the lamp is iron. Each of the three arms that extend upward end in a small horizontal extension which the black metal saucer-shaped shade rests atop. At the center of the lamp is an off-white pierced metal cone that contains the light socket on the inside. The lamp has a round black metal base at the bottom, upon which is a standard rotary knob switch that is used to turn the lamp on/off. MEASUREMENTS : With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 19.5″ tall x 12.5″ wide x 12.5 deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the top of the lamp frame is approx. There is a distance of approx. 11 between each of the three extensions that the shade rests atop. The pierced white metal shade that contains the light socket is approx. 7″ tall x 5″ in diameter (measured across the top). The round black metal base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. CONDITION : Overall the lamp is in very good condition for its age. There are a few cosmetic things which we’ll mention now. First off, the round saucer shade has a small shallow dings to it. They were hard to photo, but if you look carefully they are there. The metal is somewhat lightweight and malleable, so they may be able to be worked out. They are shallow, and didn’t bother us, so we just left them alone. Next, the white conical shade has some light surface marks on it – we didn’t attempt to clean them, so we’re uncertain as to whether or not they’ll come off. They look like superficial marks on the paint (see photos). Otherwise, the lamp is in great shape and is in working order. Wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it’s in great shape – there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect before long-term use. This vintage Mid Century Brutalist Modern Table Lamp features a unique combination of amethyst and hammered metal, making it a rare and stylish piece from the 1970s. It’s so unique the bases very solid material. The purple is an acrylic or another substance that I have no idea this works and I feel in great vintage condition.
