Unusual MAJESTIC LAMP CORPORATION CO Sculptural Spiral or Snake like shaped brass gold -color metal, original oval cylindrical cylinder shaped parchment??? Sits on a black kidney shaped metal base. Has a brass cylindrical finial & a brass cylinder weight on the pull chain switch. Simple minimalist art sculptural table lamp light. Vintage 1930’s 1940’s 1950’s era lamp. Very mcm midcentury mid-century modern. Measures about 29″h to top of final, 26″h top of harp, 20″h to top of socket, Shade is 13.75″t x 8.75″diameter, Base is 7″L. Vintage preowned used condition. Brass has patina & needs to be polished. Believe there use to be felt on underside but it’s missing. Shade has staining in a few holes where trim cord threaded through & musty smell. Lamp & shade have dust dirt marks scuffs rust, wear consistent with age & use. Plug is cracked & needs replacement. Light bulb NOT included. This is an original pair. Beautiful original condition two strings on shade broken, a spot on one shade; otherwise, Excellent condition for their age. Offering a Luxcraft “Z Lamp” (often attributed to the Majestic Lamp Co). The most iconic and coolest of all mid century table lamps. Black lacquer on the wood base is in very good condition. The two fiberglass “drum” shades are in perfect condition. The brass plated parts have the normal patina you would expect for their age. The four way light switch works perfectly and the lamp cord is in good condition (off; top light only; bottom light only; both lights). This dramatic mid century lamp has been in my collection for decades and is my favorite design object. The lamp measures approximately 25″ high by 21″ wide. The base is 12″ long by 7″ deep. The shades are 14 in diameter. It will be carefully packed in two separate boxes. One for the base and the other for the shades.
