Possibly a salad set with one large bowl and 2 “same size” smaller bowls. Only a few very small chigger bites on the rims.

A hand-turned old growth teak bowl with very thin sides that measures 8 1/4″ diameter X 4″ tall. It is signed “Espenet” “Teak” and dated “’56”. The bowl has (3) brass plugs on the bottom to fill the holes left by the screws that attached the blank to the lathe. The sides of the bowl are extremely thin. Very hard to find another bowl by Espenet inscribed with the date. In good original condition with untouched original surface. Arthur Espenet Carpenter (1920 -2006) was an important early proponent of Studio Woodwork in Bolinas, CA. In 1950 his work was chosen for the MoMA’s Good Design Exhibits.

This is a RARE and collectable mid century modern ATOMIC ERA serving/bowl or planter by ROSELANE Pasadena dating from the 1950’s. This bowl has a beautiful glossy turquoise glaze with black geometric accents. It is marked “Roselane Pasadenda-Calif 14″ on the underside. It measures approximately 13″ in length, 4 1/2 wide, and 3 – 4 1/2″ in height. This item was made in Pasadena, California. There is one dark “line” on the interior of the dish measuring approximately 1/4 on the interior of the bowl (photographed). It is very difficult to see. There is one “bubble” visible in the glaze at the rim of bowl where the height transitions (photographed). Please review all photographs and details of thelisting. I do my best to painstakingly describe each item, butvintage items are expected to show some signs of age and ware. As aresult, I have created a new account. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING!
