Vintage 1950’s Verner Panton Danish Mid Century Modern chairs, I have about 20 of these chairs in realitively good condition. These are from the 1950 and are true steel chairs, not plated steel. From obvious marks and indications, these chairs seemed to be painted white. There is minor minor pitting if not none at all. I can send you more pictures if needed. These chairs are very very hard to find and don’t come across them often. I ove the design and how they look similar to his paintings. Also these chairs were pre-powder coating so if you have a wire brush attachment, a drill and some paint you can refinish these chairs. Ill be slowly refinishing a set myself. Ill let you know if i come into any troubles. Price is for 2 chairs only. Either through greyhound: station to station or station to door if available. All the welds are solid and are not damaged. I may try and fix these if I have the time. Again these are the true steel design. Rare pair of lounge chairs designed by Lawrence Peabody for Richardson Nemschoff, 1960’s. Solid oak “horseshoe” frames with wicker seat, loose cushions newly re done in a deep navy velvet. Labels intact to underside. Wicker has been lightly restored and re-colored. There are a few typical minor breaks, mostly unseen and nothing impacting stability. Fabric and foam are new. Frames show minimal wear consistent with age and use. Evidence of previous repair/glue to one joint on underside, bot chairs are structurally solid and sturdy. One Black and One White. These don’t come around very often and to find a pair from the same estate is quite often unheard of. These Chairs are for the person who with a passion for being a purist and preferring an Original to a new manufactured reproduction. These Chairs are all Original as Found. Chairs were loved and it shows, unfortunately. Wondering if best to refurbish or keep as is, has been a debate for quite some time. I have decided to let these go to a new owner who will appreciate them as much as I do. Being highly critical, Chairs are Sturdy and Strong and completely usable as is. As Found All Original Structurally Sound and Intact. All of the fingers appear to be Structurally sound, , No repairs or breaks, only visual stress is to the finish or the coating. Cosmetic Flaws as shown in photographs. Chips, Crazing and Soiling to the finish. I gently cleaned with some soapy water to remove the bulk of the soiling. Due to fact that I did not want to tamper with the integrity of these chairs, I will leave the option of deeper cleaning and or refurbishing to the new owner. Listed for sale is an authentic set of four black walnut chairs by George Nakashima. The chairs were crafted by Widdicomb furniture in Grand Rapids, MI. They are rare and exceptional examples of George Nakashima’s earliest work. Soon after Nakashima came to Pennsylvania, he began building his studio. At this time, he also produced designs for Widdicomb and and created the Sundra series, which used both solid hardwoods and exotic burl veneers in an effort to produce stunning quality pieces. It accompanied an entire dining room set, which you can inquire about if desired. These chairs show no signs of damage and show signs of age, but not damage. The patina is rich and lovely. Much like the conoid chairs, these are made from black walnut with hickory spindles. As you may note, these chairs are prototypes in a sense for the conoid chairs. The chairs are signed George Nakashima and Sundra is hand written on the undersides. And I will make sure that it is as inexpensive for you as possible.
