Rare Vintage 50s Majestic Lamp Fiberglass Shades Mid Century Modern Atomic Era
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a RARE vintage MAJESTIC table lamp with its original accompanying fiberglass shades. The lamp base is constructed of banded brass components, and has both off-white and black wooden accent pieces. The shades are an off-white color, and they have brown squiggly filaments running throughout. There is an on/off toggle switch located on the base which allows the lamp 3-way functionality: either one or the other sockets can be lit up independently of the other, or both can be set to light up at the same time. There is a protective cork pad on the underside of the base which looks like it may have been a replacement. Not sure if they original Majestic label is underneath that as we have not made an attempt to remove it to further investigate. This lamp will make a great addition to any mid century modern interior setting! With the fiberglass shades attached, the lamp stands an impressive 35″ tall x 23″ wide. The distance to the upper light socket is approx. 27 high, and the lower socket approx. Each of the fiberglass shades measures approx. 13″ wide x 8″ tall x 8 deep. The black lacquered base at the bottom measures approx. 11″ wide x 7″ deep x 1.75 tall. Condition: While not perfect, overall we’d say the lamp is in very good, all-original vintage condition for its age. The banded brass components are in great shape – they shine nicely. The white wood component shows a little color variation between the front and back sides – possibly due to sunlight – we’re not 100% certain. The black wood components show a tiny amount of color loss, and it looks as though the base may have had color loss that was touched up at one point in time. None of this is really major, nor does it affect anything – we’re solely making mention of it for accuracy. Moving onto the shades. The front and back panels of the shades are in great shape. The upper-most part of the panels have a few cracks in the material. Everything is intact and tight with respect to the cracks, and they can only be noticed if you are looking down at them, and even then they are hard to see because they blend away with the brown squiggle filaments in the shade material (see photos). These cracks most likely resulted from a previous owner not putting on / taking off the shades with care. Aside from that, the lacing is intact on both shades and there are no burn marks or anything like that on either of them. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape. We would still strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use as the lamp is vintage, just to be safe. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition in its current state. Both parcels will be fully insured for the final value of the sale. Not everyone has a green thumb and we all know that Orchids can be especially tricky to grow. As the three “flowers” here are attached to three very tall stems and the leaves at the base are also very tall, I made the executive decision to describe this lamp as a MID CENTURY representation of an Orchid. Three metal “branches” extend from the main center stem and sit in three different positions with off-white 9″ x 4 1/4″ fiber glass shades on each. The shorter of the two leaves adds a SPECIAL FEATURE as it can be rotated at the base a full 360 degrees! Keep it positioned opposite the tall leaf or move it very close…. Design can be suited to your taste! There are a few dots of use/age paint wear adds charm! And a bit of mottling inside one leaf. Two old light bulb bases will need to be removed… Haven’t we all needed to do that once in a while?? See the third light functioning just fine!! Vtg Pair MCM Ceramic Table Lamps Original Shades! Boho Rare All New Wiring and Switch EUC. A simple tan with nice texture and shape. The speckles in the glaze mostly look brown, but have a gold glimmer to them. Medium sized: 23″ to top of harp, 17″ to top of socket, and 5.5 at widest part. These lamps come with the Pair of original Mid century modern barrel Drum Lamp Shades. They are retro and NICE and have a thin darker band at top and bottom. 13″ across X 14.5″ tall. There was a small spot on one and it has been cleaned. A small area where I cleaned it can be seen in the last 2 pictures. It really doesn’t show as much as the unlit picture shows in the photo. They are simple and have a bit of damage so they are to be considered a gift. They shouldn’t show as they sit down inside the shades. I will take offers on these as I want them to go to someone who appreciates them. The LED lights from my photo booth leave a bit of white reflection here and there. Please read entire listing before. Up For Sale is this vintage Mid Century Modern Tension Pole Lamp. This lamp has no damage and is in working condition. The lamp is 100″ tall 24″ wide from one shade to the other and the glass shades are 8 across the diameter. The lamp has a switch to turn on / off one lamp or both and a dimmer switch. Please see photos as to condition. I have a lot of vintage items listed and will gladly combine for you. Estate or yard sales so I do not know if they come from a smoke or pet free home. They measure about 28 inches to the top of the shade. The shades are about 15 inches wide and about 5 inches tall. The dusc look likecwood but i believe they are metal. This lamp will make a great addition to any mid century modern interior setting! With the fiberglass shades attached, the lamp stands an impressive 35″ tall x 23″ wide. The distance to the upper light socket is approx. 27 high, and the lower socket approx. Each of the fiberglass shades measures approx. 13″ wide x 8″ tall x 8 deep. The black lacquered base at the bottom measures approx. 11″ wide x 7″ deep x 1.75 tall. Condition: While not perfect, overall we’d say the lamp is in very good, all-original vintage condition for its age. The banded brass components are in great shape – they shine nicely. The white wood component shows a little color variation between the front and back sides – possibly due to sunlight – we’re not 100% certain. The black wood components show a tiny amount of color loss, and it looks as though the base may have had color loss that was touched up at one point in time. None of this is really major, nor does it affect anything – we’re solely making mention of it for accuracy. Moving onto the shades. The front and back panels of the shades are in great shape. The upper-most part of the panels have a few cracks in the material. Everything is intact and tight with respect to the cracks, and they can only be noticed if you are looking down at them, and even then they are hard to see because they blend away with the brown squiggle filaments in the shade material (see photos). These cracks most likely resulted from a previous owner not putting on / taking off the shades with care. Aside from that, the lacing is intact on both shades and there are no burn marks or anything like that on either of them. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape. We would still strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use as the lamp is vintage, just to be safe. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition in its current state. Both parcels will be fully insured for the final value of the sale. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a RARE vintage MAJESTIC table lamp with its original accompanying fiberglass shades. The lamp base is constructed of banded brass components, and has both off-white and black wooden accent pieces. The shades are an off-white color, and they have brown squiggly filaments running throughout. There is an on/off toggle switch located on the base which allows the lamp 3-way functionality: either one or the other sockets can be lit up independently of the other, or both can be set to light up at the same time. There is a protective cork pad on the underside of the base which looks like it may have been a replacement. Not sure if they original Majestic label is underneath that as we have not made an attempt to remove it to further investigate.
