Ultra Rare’Scuda’ Fabric Wall Panel, 1960s/70sPlease note: this two piece fabric wall panel is circa 50 years old. It shows very well but has some staining as pictured (encircled with green). It has always been like that since we bought it. Acquired more than 30 years ago in New York City. I have never seen this version before. Product is as pictured and as described. The dimensions of the panels are as follows. Large panel: 36 x 18 x 0.8 inches. Small panel: 18 x 18 x 0.8 inches. This is an original Scuda fabric wall panel from the 60s/70s.

Rare Vintage Mid Century Modern Finnish Fabric Art Seagulls Sunset Marimekko 4ft

This rare and Mid Century Modern Finnish fabric art piece features a hand printed semi-absrract design with seagulls at sunset in a classic MCM color palette of orange, beige, and brown. The rectangular panel is made from thin fine linen and is mounted (staples) on stretcher bars for easy wall hanging. The piece dates back to the 1960s possibly earlier. Don’t miss the chance to own this fabulous period piece of Finnish fabric art history. Note colors are slightly more saturated in the photos (Samsung). The orange isn’t as red looking but a very nice orange in person. 48″w x 30″h.

This 1978 textile is an original, mid-century modern, rare find by renowned textile artist, Jack Lenor Larsen. Fabric: There are 9 large square sections, 8 2/3 continuous yards. Possibly raw silk, but amateur testing did not seem to indicate it being silk. A collections fellow at the Cranbrook Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, MI, offered the following information on the fabric: The textile appears to be an iteration of the pattern’Skylight’. This pattern was produced in both grey/white and tan/red versions, most likely to be used for large floor pillows. The Minneapolis Institute of Art has an untrimmed example of this fabric in their collection. According to their website, their Larsen “Skylight” fabric was made in Thailand, and the mill is listed as Thai Silk on the museum’s site. Larsen work is in the permanent art collections in museums across the nation, including the MoMA. Note: There are two, very small imperfections in the textile. Look / ask around- I doubt you will find the “Deconova” pattern in this color scheme anywhere. If you do, I would bet it is in the form of a used curtain or wall hanging… This fabric is 100% new and unused! This was from Verner Panton’s 1981 collection, making it one of the last iterations of his classic “Curve” design before the original days of groovy mod design were over… Unlike many other Panton / Panton look-alike pieces for sale online, this piece retains the selvage for purpose of provenance and is signed / marked “MIRA – DECONOVA Designed By VERNER PANTON For Mira-x 100% co”!
