These are the most interesting stylish and actually good looking stools we have come across in years We believe 1940s’50s possible’60s but we think earlier. They have cast iron bases. They are adjustable and they appear to be ORIGINAL. The paint is original It’s a chippy pity scratched faded gold finish We have not repainted them or done anything These have some spectacular bones. When they’re fully extended they are approximately 28 1/2 ” tall when they are down they are approximately 19″. Take a look at the underneath of the seat The cone shape really sets them apart. They’re just beautiful. They’re in need of restoration. The wood is nice the lacquer is nice although there are some scratches scuffs pits chips but overall they are very usable as they are. The iron bases and poles are original they’re chippy scratch scuffed I believe some antique gold would really work for these that’s the original color of the iron. How they work at least I think so is you just pop it up and they lock in place when fully extended and then you pop it back up and they go down two of them work well One of them works sometimes and the other one does not lock at all so it’s always in the down position I think it’s a quality restoration.
