The Bitossi Vintage MCM Aldo Londi Italian Pottery 1960s Orange Red Bird 8.5 RARE figurine is a beautifully handcrafted ceramic bird dove piece from Italy, signed by Aldo Londi. It is extremely hard to find this color Bitossi bird. And it is in amazingly beautiful condition. Measures 8.5″ long, 5.75″ tall, and 4 wide. There is no damage to the piece. There is a tiny indent on the corner end of the tail, but this was from when it was made; it was glazed over and fired. This Mid-Century Modern piece exudes vintage charm with its vibrant orange and red colors and artistic design. THE STALK, LEAVES & LARGE PRIMARY PETAL, ARE PAINTED METAL. THE SMALLER PETALS, PROTRUDING FROM INSIDE OF LARGE PETAL, ARE SOME SORT OF TRANSLUCENT PLASTIC OR ACRYLIC. THIS MATERIAL ALLOWS THE LIGHT, FROM THE SMALL HOT PINK BULB, TO FILTER THRU CREATING A MELLOW, DRAMATIC EFFECT – MUCH LIKE STAINED GLASS. THIS LAMP WASN’T DESIGNED TO PROVIDE BRIGHT LIGHT, BUT CREATE A SOFT LIGHTED ATMOSPHERE – MUCH LIKE A NIGHTLIGHT.
