Must be quite rare — I’ve never seen this version from Royal Haeger before! There is also a large flower in front of the bird a Lotus? Still has most of the foil Royal Haeger sticker intact. In very good condition. Fortunately, the only damage appears to be on the back side of the lamp… A chip/repair located on the tip of the wing (see photo). Some light crazing, certainly does not detract from the beauty of this vintage treasure.. Measures approximately 13″ tall, 8-3/4″ wide, 5-3/4 deep. Please contact me with any questions.

RARE AND FABULOUS ANTIQUE MODERN ABSTRACT BIRD WALL SCULPTURE BY REVERED MODERNIST SCULPTOR C JERE. THIS WORK IS COMPRISED OF A GROUP OF EXOTIC MODERNIST SCULPTED BIRDS. SIGNED AND DATED 1971 BY C JERE. BASED ON EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, ONLY A FEW OF THESE WERE MADE. DIMENSIONS: 30″ H x 15″ W. Known for: Collaborative sculpture, Artisan House-even signed pieces are studio works. Name variants: C Jere, Jerry collaboration record Fels, Curtis Freiler, Curtis collaboration record Freiler, A Curtis Jere. Jeré is a metalwork artist of wall sculptures and household accessories. Jeré works are made and marketed by the corporation Artisan House. Curtis Jere is a compound nom-de-plume of artists Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels. The two founders combined pieces of their names to create the C. Modernism magazine interviewed Jerry Fels shortly before his death in October 2008. According to the resulting article in the Spring 2007 issue of Modernism magazine, page 116, the company was founded in 1963 by Fels and his brother-in-law Curtis (Kurt) Freiler. Freiler was the production chief, and Fels was the head of design. Their goal was to produce gallery-quality art for the masses. Artisan House sculptures are no longer made in California. Writer Mitchell Owens wrote a two-page article on the history of C. Jere for the November 2010 issue of Elle Decor. Beautiful Porcelain Bird of Paradise Table Lamp on Brass Base. The lamp measures 21″ tall from base to socket and 11″ width. The lamp is in very good condition overall, with the exception of a small piece of the bird’s feather being glued back on evenly, as shown in photo #7. No tarnish to the base.
