Please check out my other items for sale! Vintage 1960’s Jens Risom aluminum group armless sofa. This rarely seen aluminum framed sofa is absolutely stunning. Reupholstered a few years ago in exquisite Grey Knoll Velvet (Mohair). Minimal flourishes include an aluminum back bar, and a nine button seat back. Note seat imperfections hence the low price. This sofa is the most comfortable armless sofa you’ll ever sit on. It measures 6’6″L x 32″ T x 31″D, with a seat of 15 1/2″ at it’s highest point. The foam and suspension are excellent. The frame is very nice and would polish up even nicer (we like the patina). The velvet fabric is the most forgiving upholstery we’ve ever seen. It hides almost all of the minor scuffs and scrapes from use. Teflon glides pictured were just temporary. There is one, very small (like less than 1/8 round) hole that does not go all the way through the fabric, located on the front of the seat of the sofa, left side (facing the sofa). Only noticeable if you are looking for it. It cannot be seen in any of the photos. Overall, excellent vintage condition. A seriously cool suite, the frames are super lightweight chromed aluminium, the leather is fluted which means it breaths and is allot more comfortable than flat leather. In terms of the condition, the leather has been lightly stripped back, its then been hand dyed and antiqued six times to achieve this wonderful cigar brown leather colour. MID CENTURY KNOLL CONVERTIBLE DAYBED SOFA By Richard Shultz Manufactured around 1960, this sofa can be pulled out to convert into a bed. This sofa will need some work. The cushion material on the back support and armrests is disintegrating, The fabric is in pretty good condition but the armrest are a bit worn and need cleaning. On the under side there are 2 metal coils that were used to apply tension to make it easier to pull out the bed but the screws holding them broke out and will need to be reconnected, however, the bed can be converted without them. There are 2 bars that were reconnected with new bolts and nuts. It measures 7′ long, 30 ” deep, 29″ high (top of back), seat cushion is 14 high. It extends 8 pulled out.
