Rare LARGE Blenko Handmade Glass 6002-P Variation Pleated Vase in Paw Paw. Paw Paw was never a “catalog color” for the 6002-P Vase. This vase was finished with a variation “polished top”. The 6002-P was originally designed and manufactured by Pilgrim Glass Company. Blenko obtained many of the mold’s from Pilgrim after they ceased operations. “Blenko made” pilgrim pieces are designated with a “-P” after the catalog number to distinguish this. Signed: “Blenko 2020″ & “John Blenko”. Measures approximately 18 inches tall and 9.25 inches across. No: chips, cracks, sickness or staining. Several tool marks near the top (as made).

THE STALK, LEAVES & LARGE PRIMARY PETAL, ARE PAINTED METAL. THE SMALLER PETALS, PROTRUDING FROM INSIDE OF LARGE PETAL, ARE SOME SORT OF TRANSLUCENT PLASTIC OR ACRYLIC. THIS MATERIAL ALLOWS THE LIGHT, FROM THE SMALL HOT PINK BULB, TO FILTER THRU CREATING A MELLOW, DRAMATIC EFFECT – MUCH LIKE STAINED GLASS. THIS LAMP WASN’T DESIGNED TO PROVIDE BRIGHT LIGHT, BUT CREATE A SOFT LIGHTED ATMOSPHERE – MUCH LIKE A NIGHTLIGHT.
