Very Rare, Vintage C. 1950’s Mid-Century Modern, Dorothy Thorpe Lucite Square Base, Candle Holders – Pair. These came from a mid-century modern home estate in Palm Springs Ca. In the old prestige neighborhood of Las Palmas where old and new Hollywood actors reside. You can find the common pretzel-shaped Dorothy Thorpe candle holders, but the square base. Holders are very very rare. They are in very good condition with normal wear and patina on the metal. These were made in the Hollywood regency & Mid-century modern era, and are a compliment to any interior and work in any color palette due to their transparency and understated elegance. 4″W × 4″D × 6.25H.

Very scarce and likely one of the rarest pieces from the ever popular midcentury modernist Silver Band pattern of Dorothy Thorpe fine crystal tableware with genuine sterling silver band to the foot. Fresh from a fine old Denver estate, and offered with No Reserve. Condition is very good to excellent overall showing light and minor use and minimal wear or scratching to their silver bands. No chips, cracks, repairs, or other damage. This pattern has become an icon of good mid century modern design and can now be found in the 20th century industrial design collections of many museums. A very rare set designed by Dorothy Thorpe in the 1950’s. The frosted cast resin pieces are shaped in a double layer sunflower. The set includes one large serving bowl, and 10 smaller bowls. The frosted resin changes shades with the lighting. The large bowl has smooth center, while the smaller bowls have a raised “sunflower” pattern. The set is in very good vintage condition with no major issues. There are a few chips mainly the bottom edges of big bowl and s small chip in the petal of a smaller bowl as shown, but they do not detract from the immense beauty of the set. Great for a party centerpiece, or on display. Large Serving Bowl 11 1/2″W x 5-1/4″H. Small bowls 6″W x 3″H. Very heavy weighs 14 lb without packaging. You are purchasing from a smoke free home.
