Gino Sarfatti design Nodel 540 Table Lamp by Arteluce Italy from c. 1968 (original issue, very rare brass version in 220V). We are offering this original Gino Sarfatti design Nodel 540 table lamp dating to c. 1968 by Arteluce Italy. This is an original and very rare example of the Nodel 540 lamp in a smoked transparent acrylic with a brass metal dome. This lamp was acquired from the original owner who brought the lamp to North America from Europe in the early 1970’s. This lamp is original 220 Volt electrical power and wall plug. For use in the US this lamp will require a power converter. This lamp measures approximately 8.75″ height by 4.75″ length by 4.25 width. The lamp is in excellent condition with no damages, wiring appears perfect and clean. Isn’t this fantastic? Such a fantastic mid-century modern aesthetic here. Brass is becoming so popular again, especially vintage brasses. I want to assign it to the Hollywood Regency category of design but it could work in so many different decors fluently. The plug doesn’t look scary like so many that you find on these older lamps. You can have fun picking out your own lampshade since that is not included. I’m visualizing a kind of subtle paper IKEA lamp shade but let your imagination run wild. I did not attempt to clean the brass but let it in the state with the patina. I know a lot of designers are very particular about the cleaning process. So I will leave that to you. Do you think it is a Chinese character or a kanji one (the languages share characters)? The base is composed of two pieces that slide apart easily. The height of the base is approximately 10.5 in and the lamp as shown with a bulb in it is 19 inches. The bulb is just shown for photographic purposes to demonstrate full height and bulb is not included. This is just such an exciting piece to me because one really encounters a rarity like this. With MCM decor being white-hot, this is a wonderful find for a designer or interior decorator or just anyone who loves to beautify their home with design classics of yesteryear.

Vintage Bill Curry Design Line pedestal lamp. This is a rarer design. Perfect for uplighting / illuminating sculptures, objects. Measures 24″ h x 10.25″ w x 10.25 d. Overall good vintage condition. Base has some scuffs, scratches and two or three small chips (see photos for examples). Some faint spotting visible on the base upon close inspecting. Glass cover / shade is free of chips or cracks. Pedestal looks very good placed and illuminated. Lamp switches on and off as it should. Wiring is old and should be switched out in the near future for safety. Item will be packed with care.

This is the quintessence of Mid-Century Modern design. I could not find another like it, apart from the other one that I have up for sale separately. And using image search, I could not find or date it. It’s possible it is a retro or throwback design that came out in a later decade. But it certainly fits right in with the MCM or Japandi aesthetic. Bulb is for demonstration purposes only in photos. Bulb and shade are not included. You can have fun finding the perfect shade. It would work with many different styles of shade. This is approximately 15 inches in height, including the socket without a bulb in it. A wonderful piece of decor that will surely catch the eyes of your guests! I hope my photos did it justice and showed that it creates the illusion of a drip technique. That is actually the way the painter applied the gold to create that illusion. It’s a quite interesting effect visually.
