ThThe vase has a sculptural relief depicting a religious or renaissance scene, highlighted in blue, yellow, and white tones. Hand-painted glazed earthenware or majolica with raised bas-relief details. FeThe vase features a central figural medallion framed by draped curtain motifs and floral/foliate elements, characteristic of Italian or European art pottery traditions in a renaissance revival style. Each of the 2 sides features a raised, yellow cross in relief with green foliage at the base, set against a crackle-glazed background decorated with blue and yellow drapery motifs. On back, the drapery continues with a yellow border below and a blueish background with brown or mauve colored lines all about. It is about 6″ tall x 3 1/2 wide x 2 1/2″ deep. Condition: very good vintage condition with a small firing crack on front left top shoulder as shown and may be a small touchup on one of the sides borders near the cross (see photo). Weighs 1 lb 4 oz before packing. Signed on bottom as seen.
