Rare Vintage Mid-Century Modern Mexican themed Tray and 6 Tumblers
Highly collectable and rare. Mexican-themed reverse painting tray and tumblers. The tray features light-colored wood with vibrant yellow glass inlay depicting a man in a sombrero with a donkey, painted in shades of orange and umber. Tumblers are decorated in beautiful shades of red, orange, yellow and green. One side depicts a man with a sombrero and sarape riding a donkey, the other side shows a woman carrying a jug on her head and tugging a child behind her. The tray is in very good condition with slight signs of wear on the wooden frame. Tumblers are in great vintage condition with no chips or cracks some possible storage wear. See photos for details. All artwork is clear and crisp. Items are as depicted. Tray measures 13.5″ x 7.5″. Tumblers are 4.75 tall and hold approximately 8 oz.

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage fiberglass tray manufactured by Boltabest. Not certain if this is a George Nelson design. The surface is in black and white, and it features abstract shapes throughout (see photos). The underside of the tray is brown, and it has the Boltabest logo embossed on the back (again, see photos). We’ve seen plenty of these trays over the years, but we’ve never run across this particular design. It’ll be a nice addition to any modern interior setting. 20.25″ wide x 15″ deep. Condition: The tray is in good condition, but not perfect. There are light superficial scratches over the top surface; however, it still displays nicely. The corners of the tray show some discoloration. We have not done anything in an attempt to clean or treat the tray to see if they’d come out, so we’re uncertain whether they will or not. The brown underside of the tray shows some scratching as well from previous surfaces that it has come into contact with over the years. There’s also some white discoloration on the underside – again, we haven’t cleaned the tray – these may or may not come out. All sales are final. I’m swooning over this set, are you? Very Charles Eames, Mad Men, Mid century style. 5 piece set includes tray, salt shaker, pepper shaker, creamer, sugar dish and 1 lid. Cream and sugar are made of thick glass with gold splatter. Salt and pepper are clear glass encased within decorative brass overlays. Tray is kidney bean shaped with tapered legs. Glass is free of chips cracks or repairs. Tray has a few spots of rust / finish loss see pictures.
