Vintage RARE Albert Parvin American Mid Century Modern Buffet Sideboard 60 READ. Measurement- 60″ x 32″ x 16.5 This is used and does have lots of stains due to my 7 years old daughter painted it and have some stickers in it. The top has one small hole to pass through the cable. At the back has written in it-see photos. Overall it’s beautiful mid century buffet sideboard table. Just need TLC/restoration-great for project. Very heavy piece need atleast 2 people to move it. This is a beautiful and very striking Antique Mid Century Modern clay or red stoneware sculpture, depicting a voluptuous and alluring nude African American woman. The figure’s shy, and authentic gaze and her posture suggest a model who is perhaps shy and demure, not used to modeling nude. The most unique and wonderful aspect of this sculpture is her chubby and voluptuous figure, which is perfectly accentuated and modeled in a powerful and dignified way. Truly a beauty to behold. Appears to be made from a red pottery clay, and glazed with a luminous black paint or ceramicist lacquer. This figure likely dates to the 1950’s – 1960’s, but could certainly be much older. It appears to be unsigned. I believe this may have been sculpted by someone very important. Perhaps you recognize the artist? This sculpture in many ways reminds me of the sculptures by famed Mexican artist, Botero. Approximately 5 inches at its widest point x 14 inches at its highest point. This vintage, mid century modern blue painted aluminum panel was originally used as a decorative fence panel. DeKoven started his career as an apprentice at Taliesin for Frank Lloyd Wright and went on to become Wright’s chief architect. Fence panels for the Hyde Park Redevelopment project (1503-19 East 56th Street, Chicago, IL) near the University of Chicago. The last photograph shows the fence panels as they were originally installed behind the townhouses in 1960 (Photograph courtesy: Cultural Historian, City of Chicago). Architect: Harry Weese (American, 1915-98). Originally designed for the Corbett House (Cincinnati, OH, built 1959). House Beautiful, Pace Setter, February 1960. This is a wonderful and very cool Antique Mid Century Black African American Modernism painting, oil or watercolor on paper, by important and regionally renowned East Coast artist Dr. Lanton 1913 – 1991. This work depicts an Abstract Expressionist scene, and is titled Exorcism by Witch Doctor. ” Signed “Wendell C. Lanton in bottom right. A label on the back reads: Black Esthetics – 1978, February 1-12. Title: Exorcism by Witch Doctor. D, 7 Stephen Street, Montclair N. Lanton was an educator, and an early pioneer of the Post – Harlem Renaissance Art movement that proliferated as an African American response to the Mid Century Abstract Expressionism, which was a predominately White genre of art. His works are very rare, and seldom come up for sale. Lanton was a prominent early member of the Illinois chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, an African American Fraternity established at Cornell University in 1906. RARE Vintage Pyrex Early American 4 Piece Mixing Bowl Set 401 402 403 404. These are extremely hard to find as a four bowl set. The bowls have been used, please look at our pictures carefully. The pictures are the exact one that is up for sale! All items come from Estate Sales mostly in Southern California and are used unless stated otherwise! Many of our items are in Mint or near Mint condition and we do call out all imperfections. And take many real photos, not copied ones. If the item youre looking at is glass, crystal, Pyrex and some plastics, those are extremely reflective surfaces. Our photo lights often leave spots in repeating locations across the items. We turn the items so you get a clear view and can clearly see they are from the photo lights. And then on a different angle the spot will move to a different location because of the lighting. Most of our items are breakable and collectible. Some are 40-70 or more years old. Without the photographic evidence, there is nothing that can be done on our part. We pack extremely carefully using large amounts of bubble wrap and Styrofoam packing peanuts. Please see all of our other items for sale.
