Located in Los Angeles for ease of pick-up. De Sede,’Cosmos’, beige leather, complete 7 elements, Switzerland, 1970s, early rare production. Thick, high-quality modular sofa made by De Sede in Switzerland in the 1970s. Due to the separate elements, the couch can be used in a variety of different positions. The high quality leather on the sofa is phenomenal and will continue to age in a beautiful way. De Sede once started as a saddler’s workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. Slowly, the company widened their Scope and committed themselves to transforming the best possible leather into seating furniture. In 1965 the family-run business grew into a professional company and their name was De Sede AG. De Sede products are detail-obsessed and are completely made and focussed on the people who use them. Therefore, all the De Sede items are made out of the best materials which results in durability and comfort. Comfortable so called’Cosmos’ elemented sofa designed and manufactured by De Sede, Switzerland, 1970. This sofa has a wooden structure stuffed with foam and covered with buffalo leather. The sofa is in patinated brown leather and is in excellent original condition with a nice patina from age and usage. There are a total of 7 elements that can be connected to each other. You can choose the arrangement. Measurements corner element: D 35″ x W 43″ x H 28 SH 16 Inch. Measurements straight element: W 26″x D 33.5″ x H 28 Inch. Size DM 40 x H 20.5 Inch. This vintage, mid century modern blue painted aluminum panel was originally used as a decorative fence panel. DeKoven started his career as an apprentice at Taliesin for Frank Lloyd Wright and went on to become Wright’s chief architect. Fence panels for the Hyde Park Redevelopment project (1503-19 East 56th Street, Chicago, IL) near the University of Chicago. The last photograph shows the fence panels as they were originally installed behind the townhouses in 1960 (Photograph courtesy: Cultural Historian, City of Chicago). Architect: Harry Weese (American, 1915-98). Originally designed for the Corbett House (Cincinnati, OH, built 1959). House Beautiful, Pace Setter, February 1960. Extremely rare Poul Cadovius Mid Century Modern tension pole Cado Wall System / room divider. This gorgeous two bay system works with 8′ ceilings and consists of three solid teak poles which are double sided so that it can be used as a room divider by interchanging the shelving between the front and back of the unit or as a wall unit by placing all the shelves along one side. This set will work with other Poul Cadovius Royal System components that use the peg system so that you can add on to the set. The set includes: (1) three (3) solid teak double sides poles with metal tension supports on either end (2) five (5) teak shelves with triangular supports; each shelf branded “Made in Denmark” (3) two (2) magazine / book shelves This two bay system is completely modular and the shelves can be positioned anywhere on the rails. The teak color & grain are outstanding and the cabinets and rails are in very good vintage condition. These Wall Systems are very functional & sought after as they are rare and very collectible. Note: the last few photos are not of this unit but do show how it can be used as a room divider by splitting up the shelving between front and back. Measurements: H 97″ x W 65″; depth depends on if you use as a room divider and put items on both sides of the poles.
