This exquisite chair features a solid wood frame and backrest with armrest in excellent sturdy condition with no cracks or loose joints. All the cords are in excellent shape free of loose or broken treads. Excellent vintage condition with minimal scratches and dings more towards the legs then anywhere else. It is environmentally friendly! Vintage is usually better quality! I’m sure you have heard the saying, “They dont makem like they used to”. And it’s true! Hans Wegner Peacock Chair by Johannes Hansen. The peacock chair by Danish master Hans Wegner is a display of extraordinary woodworking and highly refined design. While using the English windsor chair as inspiration, this 1947 design exhibits the detailed and innovative aesthetic Wegner is famous for. Expertly handcrafted by Johannes Hansen. This particular example has been recently restored. The paper cord seat is brand new and is in perfect condition. It was created using the original material. The wood frame has gone through a detailed restoration. The restoration was captured via video and can be found on my YouTube channel. When I obtained the chair it was painted blue by its previous owner. The paint was stripped and the chair was restored using numerous woodcrafting methods. It was a painstaking process. The chair has a striking look and would be a standout piece for any midcentury / danish modern collector. OF THE PERIOD: Mid-Century Modern. PLACE OF ORIGIN: Denmark. S uch an e legant minimalist design. Rare 60s Povl Dinesen Desk A djustable Lamp. Fresh to the market, and rarely seen. Nickel plated steel and painted aluminum, In very good overall condition. Original paint to the shade shows light wear consistent with age and use, I have done nothing to it, I have not cleaned it. Swivel joint functions perfectly without any Issues. There is a flat spot on the back edge of the skin on the metal base, it is hard to photograph, it could probably be taken apart and worked out by a metalsmith. Lamp is in excellent working condition, cord is still flexible, on off switch functions without any issues. As these images illustrate, the dining top surface is stunning! The natural luster and wood selection sets it apart, with a dramatic bookend grain that follows the table’s form. Robust stained oak legs taper elegantly to the floor. Handsome brass hardware extends on both sides to support the two 20.5 teak leaves. When not in use boards stow away underneath.
