Here are 2 beautiful chairs. I was told they were original Wassily -I do not know if they are or not. The chrome frame does not have caps. The leather is thick. No markings on anything. There are a couple of scuffs but nothing serious. This has seen it’s last markdown, for any lower price than this and I will just keep them. Thank you, these really are very nice chairs. Section of 5 marcel Breuer designed theatre chairs. 34″ x 90″ x 24. Areas of discoloration, minor tears, seam separation on green canvas. Would shows mild chipping and paint loss. Mild bending on metal bar the binds the chair together. Provenance: The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have roughly 7 rows of 5 with a handful of remnant pieces to complete the rows. In 1928, it was the first such tubular-steel frame caned seat type of chair that was mass-produced. It was among the 10 most common such chairs. One of the original ones from that time sits in the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan. Associate Curator at the Department of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art, Cara McCarty, referred to the chair as being among the 10 most important chairs of the 20th century. Made in Italy 1970’s. Price is for both chairs. Note: chairs are from different sets. Overall Height: 30.5. Use the pictures as part of the description. The are a couple small break that are hardly noticeable on each of the seats. Cane on back rests are in excellent condition. The chair with no arm rest does have some minor chipping that is occurring on the front part of the seat. Minor wear on the bottom part of the front seat. Chrome is in good condition, with some spots. All vintage items are just that; used and loved through the years.
