Offered for sale: MCM Brutalist Mid Century Modern LAST SUPPER Wall Sculpture Candle Rare JESUS. This is RARE find… Truly an amazing work of Brutalist Figurative art. This style is characterized by raw, textured surfaces and simplified, expressive human forms, similar to works by artists like Ruth Bloch or Krishna Reddy. The piece is crafted from a combination of copper, brass, and wood. The figures are mounted behind a long, curved wooden stave, which appears to be reclaimed, possibly from a barrel. (5) small metal candle cups are integrated into the design. There are (13) figures individual crafted/mounted to the wood with Jesus in the middle and a “halo” above his head. Sitting to his right is John the Apostle with his head resting on Jesus’s shoulder. Back has (2) hooks for hanging/mounting on the wall. Item is used and in good condition. Shows signs of wear consistent with use and storage but nothing major. I have decided not to clean this item and leave its original “as-found” patina. I will leave this for its new owner to decide.
