Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown clear glass internally decorated with fine gold inclusions and white spiraling pattern. Created in the Cordonato D’ Oro and Zebrati design range, circa 1950s. The bowl has a scalloped rim with ribbed body. From the top it creates a beautiful heart shape. Would make a great display piece on any table. Use it as a catchall, or candy dish. Measures an average of 7″ in diameter (8″ inches at its widest point) and is 3 inches tall. Extravagantly thick wall brings its weight to 3 lbs, 5 oz. No chips or cracks. Some very light scratches in the bottom of the bowl from use. I tried to capture them in photo #11, but they are difficult to see. Contact me if you need additional information. Vase by Barovier & Toso, Italy, 1960s. Red, white and transparent cased Murano Glass. Etched signature on bottom “Barovier & Toso Murano”. Height 38 cm/15 inches. Incamiciato vase (red exterior/white interior) is a virtually impossible-to-find example of Barovier & Toso’s production during the 1960s. Excellent vintage condition, no chips or damage. The Barovier family has been a premier glass maker in Venice for 700 years. At 30 he became a partner in his father’s company, the Vetreria Artistica Barovier & C. After becoming its artistic director in 1926, he took over its management with his brother Nicol. Barovier became the only director in 1936, fostering the fusion between his own glass workshop and the S. A. I. A. R. During WWII the new company was renamed Barovier & Toso. Over the course of his 50-year activity. Invented numerous decorative techniques that contributed significantly to the modern reinvention of glass art in Venice. Hence, these vases are increasingly rare. The Incamiciato vase is a classic Venetian modern vase types? The white interior is encased (incamiciato) in the red exterior. Century, Ercole Barovier produced some of the most remarkable art glass in Venice in the same company of artists as Carlo Scarpa, Fulvio Bianconi, Paolo Venini, Vittorio Zecchin, Gio Ponti, and others. This rare form in the Cordonato d’Oro (golden ropes) line by Barovier is done in amethyst glass swimming in gold (aventurine). Darker at the bottom portion as it is thicker. The bullicante (controlled bubbles) addition to the’ropes’ provides an extra dimension. Shape is like one of those squat ribbed squash with a cone on top. Each of the 12 ribs ends at the mouth. With a slight scallop; a bit more refined in design than the larger one we also have listed in gold saturated rock crystal clear. This is a jewel in pristine condition with no issues, not even movement markings on the polished flat applied clear pedestal-type bottom with a 1/2 dollar sized, scooped pontil mark in the middle, and about half of the vintage, red-trimmed white label was one used mid-century. This is a well-documented piece with its exorbitant use of all-over gold, concentrated on the ribs adorned with gold bubbles in a grid pattern. We believe blue is the rarest color, followed by amethyst, red, and salmon/pink. Clear is used in the ashtrays, bowls and little knick-knacks, as well as the vases.
