Vintage Large Oil Rain Hanging Swag Lamp with Unique Rare Nude Goddess. I could not find this particular version of the goddess anywhere. Roughly 27 1/2″ tall and about 13″ wide. I believe it would of had a bottom finial type decoration that is missing. Tested and working good. Has been thoroughly cleaned. Other than the missing bottom decorative piece it looks great. Cord is roughly 14′ 2 long.

They are made of metal with the pineapples made of some type of resin, I think, do not know for sure. The leaves are painted in such a way as to look real. Please look at pictures. The boxes weigh 9.5 pounds each and are 25 x 16 x 16 inches. Crafted from sturdy metal, these lamps are corded electric with a black cord color and a knob control style. The item length and width measure 15 inches each and stand 32 to top of finial the lamps are in their original and rare condition. Rare, 1, 2, or 3, Vintage 70’s 1 Pair matching large stoneware lamps, each of spherical form with a warm terracotta colored body and dark, matte finish, incised with a repeated abstract pattern that evokes Antique pottery and the classical style of Terence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings. Each is signed’Brown’ near the cord hole. Overall condition is good, with minor surface wear and looks like an animal (cat most likely) chewing on the cord near the base, no wire showing, still works fine. Original wiring, no shades. Two measure: 14″ body height, 12″ diameter and 25 to top of finial. One is 15″x12″x26 just slightly bigger. There’s some sunfade or light color on one, last couple pictures. No cracks or chips. Paul Evans is most noted for his cityscape designs of the mid 70s which became iconic examples of the seventies deco-revival. But just prior to this period he created some very elegant and rich mid century lamps that already hint at the deco aesthetic with their clean lines, statuesque quality and monumental size. This lamp is a work of art. The quality in the thin sheets of maple veneer fit together to create a consistent grain flow around the lamp is simply amazing. It harks to the fitment of veneers in Rolls Royce motorcars and shows an attention to detail and a skill of craftsmanship that just doesn’t exist anymore. The design is timeless. It looks as contemporary today as it did nearly half a century ago! The verdigris on the base is now perfect after this time period and this lamp manages to convey that it is a monument that has seen the passage of many decades – yet is ageless! Lamp is in superb condition. The wood has only very slight wear. The metal pieces show tarnish and the base shows verdigris and the coloration that only decades can create. All original electrics work perfectly. This gorgeous lamp will complement any distinguished interior, whether it be a NY penthouse, case study home, California mansion or atomic ranch.
