Vintage 1970s rosewood and glass table lamp. The lampshade is made of thick cream glass. Spiral stem is made of brass. There is a decorative brass plate and screw on top of the shade. The stem is attached to horse shoe shaped base made of rosewood. The switch is placed on the cord. The lamp is in very good condition and in full working order. Marks to the brass work (please see pictures). The lamp takes one E27 bulb. As with all vintage electrical equipment, it is advisable to have it checked by a qualified electrician. Can be used with 110-230v supplies. Although we strive to give as accurate a description as possible, patina and age-related wear are to be expected. MCM Vintage BALDELLI Italy Owl Red Piggy Bank – RARE – Mid Century Modern. A mid-century ceramic coin bank made by Ceramiche Baldelli near Perugia, Italy. This charming owl is glazed in glossy red- with hand painted details accentuating his big eyes. The coin slot is at the back with a stopper at the base. Stamped Baldelli Italy and hand numbered 819 to the underside. There is a also a small Z imprinted. 6 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ x 4 Inches. There is a minor defect at the edge of the stopper on the base. There are black marks in the red glaze that are original to the piece. Please see photos and send any questions. Will be packaged carefully! Here’s the history of the pink kitchen craze. Inspired by the favorite color of First Lady Mamie Eisenhower, pink was an exceptionally popular color for kitchens and bathrooms in the 1950s. Mamie loved the color so much, even her cotton balls were pink! Dubbed “Mamie pink, ” the color soon became a national symbol for the joy felt at the close of WWII and the remaking of the American household. Mamie, so refined in her lovely shades of pink, became the ideal model for an American housewife. Ike runs the country. I turn the pork chops, she once famously said. Mamie was ladylike and down-to-earth. She loved Lawrence Welk. She wore noisy charm bracelets. She played Scrabble and watched soap operas and served TV dinners!
