It is in excellent vintage condition with only a couple of nicks on the surface of the table, but nothing that takes away from this stunning example of this hard to find table. From a 1963 Lane Advertisement. The inlaid dovetail border. The warm, rich seasoned walnut. The satiny finish only hand-rubbing can achieve! One after another, custom details you’ll see in every beautiful Acclaim table by Lane! And underneath it all — craftsmanshipwhere it counts! In the sturdy top that won’t warp, won’t split. In joining locked to a grown-together fit. In legs so exact, sof firmly plated, there’s no rock, wobble, no place for it to start! Indeed the proudest cabinet-maker might have made this table. BAS-RELIEF WALL PLAQUE, W/CAVEMAN. CAVEWOMAN & BENEVOLENT LION. Italian Modernist ceramic art/bas-relief sculpture. 8 ¾” Height x 8″ Width x ½ Thick. Offered for your careful review and consideration is this killer vintage Marcello Fantoni (Italy) Modernist bas-relief, ceramic figurative plaque from Fantoni’s 1950’s’Caveman’ series of glaze decorated, figurative, 2-dimensional light wall sculptures, featuring an assortment of cavemen, their cavemen wives and cavemen children, often depicted humorously with tamed, seemingly benevolent lions, as sorts of domesticated pets and extensions of the cavemen nuclear family. Fantoni clearly was having fun here (perhaps a little too much fun) with this popular series, not nearly as high-minded and as conceptually lofty as his famous, otherworldly glazed ceramic vessels, which made him internationally famous. Signed and with the original affixed Gump’s San Francisco, California luxury retailer’s branded label still on the back. There’s not a whisper on it. It’s in simply incredible condition for those who crave the best and demand near perfection. This vintage Marcello Fantoni’Caveman’ series decorated figurative ceramic plaque of a caveman, cavewoman and a rather friendly, benevolent lion, delivers. It still has its original hanging hook and wire attached. It’s ready to go. What’s on your walls? Gump’s was a luxury American home furnishings and home décor retailer, founded in 1861 in San Francisco, California. The company was liquidated in 2018. Very good to Excellent, pristine, near immaculate overall condition. Not a whisper on it. If God pooped ice cream sundaes, this would be it.
