This large-scale piece was crafted using a crushed stone composite (malachite) and features intricate raised carvings of Mayan warriors, glyphs, and traditional iconography – a reference to the Mesoamerican ballgame in which losing players were believed to be sacrificed. This is an authentic collector’s piece of mid-century Mexico. It is nearly impossible to find this design, especially in such mint condition. The last known version appeared in Spain – this is the only one we’ve seen listed in the U.
