A very expressive work of Porcelain Art, created in the most exclusive Rosenthal-Hutschenreuther ateliers, embellished with abstract-realist theme in rare bisque porcelain, with proper markings. Extremely limited edition by prestigious designer Lorenz Hutschenreuther, in impeccable condition. Measurements: Height-24.5cm (9.64 inches), Diameter-7.5cm (3 inches). A bit of Hutschenreuther history: At the start of the 19th century, a young porcelain painter by the name of Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther from Thuringia went in search of fame and fortune, which he eventually found in north east Bavaria. The young Hutschenreuther had discovered “white gold” (or kaolin) for the production of porcelain, and in 1814 he founded the first modern and private porcelain factory in Bavaria. His aim was to manufacture porcelain’second to none’ for quality and excellence in Germany. Under the management of his son, a second porcelain factory was founded in 1857 in the neighboring town of Selb. More than one hundred years later, in 1969, both companies combined to form Hutschenreuther AG, Selb. By this time, the Hutschenreuther name was already well known especially among connoisseurs and lovers of fine porcelain. Today Hutschenreuther is one of the most important porcelain brands in the world. Modern production technology, combined with traditional craftsmanship, as well as creativity and competence in creation, quality and practicality have all been decisive factors in the success of the brand. In August 1st 2000 the “Lion Brand” Hutschenreuther joined the Rosenthal Group. Two famous companies from Upper Franconia were united under one management and took over the leading position in the German market for high quality porcelain. Its in very good vintage condition overallplease note that one of the walnut handles seems to have been glued on? A bit wonkily and theres a small hairline crack on the very bottom of the bowl that doesnt go through to the other side. Theres also a faint bit of crazing at the bottom of the bowl and a tiny edge rub. None of these is especially noticeable. Please take a close look at the photos. That said, this is a somewhat rare bowl and absolutely beautiful with its low, angular lines. It measures about 18.75 long x 4.25 wide x 2 tall. I love it wish I had the whole collection! Very rare black and white stylized abstract porcelain elephant figure from the Cmielow Porcelain Tableware Industries, dating from the 1950s or 60s. Great mid century modern design! SIZE: 3.5 (8.5cm) tall approx. CONDITION: Very good condition with three tiny white marks (missing black color on its back). There are also some brownish lines on the base near the opening. They appear to be firing cracks and original to the piece but may be after production damage. I cannot be sure. Please disregard any other white spots as they are light reflections.
