Very rare black and white stylized abstract porcelain elephant figure from the Cmielow Porcelain Tableware Industries, dating from the 1950s or 60s. Great mid century modern design! SIZE: 3.5 (8.5cm) tall approx. CONDITION: Very good condition with three tiny white marks (missing black color on its back). There are also some brownish lines on the base near the opening. They appear to be firing cracks and original to the piece but may be after production damage. I cannot be sure. Please disregard any other white spots as they are light reflections. MARKS: well marked with the Cmielow triangular mark as well as C 409-924 and 36. Other countries please enquire for a quote. A rare sterling silver topped box. It is hallmarked for London 1985 with the makers marks being BLF for Brian Leslie Fuller. It is also marked with his Glis Glis (Dormouse) trade mark. It has been beautifully designed with the lid being cast with a fox, the base is polished hardwood. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, the wood is free from chips cracks and repairs. 2.25 inches (5.8cms) tall by over 2 inches (5.5cms) across the base and weighs 61 grams including the base and 36 excluding it.
