Base and globe are in good condition for their age with minor scuffs. Globe still has equator tape intact, colors are still vibrant. Rare set of three original mid-century copper and white glass semi-flush mount ceiling fixtures with short tapered stem mount ceiling lights by Globe Lighting Mfg. These beautifully preserved fixtures feature perforated scallop detailing, milk-glass diffusers, and that classic atomic-era saucer shape that defines 1950s modern lighting design. California (label intact on underside). Era: Mid-Century Modern, circa 1950s-60s. Design: Copper-tone metal with scalloped perforations and milk-glass diffusers. 2 complete fixtures with glass diffusers. 1 fixture missing the glass shade (ideal for parts or restoration). Dimensions: Each approximately 15″diameter × 9″tall. Vintage condition with light surface wear, patina, and minor marks consistent with age. Copper finish retains excellent warm sheen. Wiring appears original – recommend professional inspection prior to installation. Perfect for use in an entryway, kitchen, hallway, or bathroom, or as a trio in a modern renovation. These pieces pair beautifully with Lightolier, Gerald Thurston, and Atomic Ranch interiors and add an instant touch of Hollywood Regency meets Space Age glam. If you’ve been hunting for a once-in-a-lifetime statement lamp, this is it. This is a huge illuminated globe made from hand-cut capiz shells set in a leaded/metal mosaic over a round pedestal base. When lit, the nacre swirls glow with a soft, pearly shimmer you simply can’t capture in photos. It is beautiful, unique, and extremely rare-I have never seen another example in person or online. Era/Style: Mid-Century Modern with strong Art Deco influence. Material: Natural capiz shell tiles, leaded/metal framework, pedestal base. Color/Finish: Pearl/ivory shell with dark grid lines; white base. Size: Large statement scale – oversized globe (see photos for scale; happy to provide exact measurements). Switch/Socket: Standard interior socket; works and lights up beautifully Condition (read). Overall presents gorgeously. There is some damage at the top (see photos); when positioned with the seam facing forward, the flaw is not noticeable. A prior owner glued two small glass pieces into the shell mosaic decades ago (likely 1970s/80s). A restorer could replace those tiles with capiz to make this look nearly brand new. Normal light wear to base consistent with age. This is for the serious collector of capiz shell lighting, MCM, Hollywood Regency, Art Deco revival, boho coastal, or studio craft pieces. It belongs in a special home, design studio, boutique hotel, or gallery. You will likely never come across another example-the scale, material, and globe form make it truly museum-worthy. Additionally, there are some on the top. We’re probably back in the 70s or 80s somebody glued three or four different glass rocks to it. If you turn the lamp like I did in the first couple photos, you won’t see any of this. But I do suggest getting it fixed. Capriz shell is partially broken in a couple areas like I mentioned. Again it’s all basically at the top of the lamp. ? Bottom line: this lamp is big, rare, and breathtaking-photos can’t do it justice. If you’ve been waiting for a true showstopper, this is your chance. I have had people contact me and want me to have this as a part of their movie for the set. I’m willing to negotiate, but please submit your best offers. After days of research, we can’t find anything similar to it in a table lamp. Especially with a base like this from the 1970s. This is extremely rare and extremely unique.
