This Piece is in unusable Excellent Condition With no damage the clarity is pristine. Sits level and flat. The pontel on the stopper is rough, but this is normal from where they break it off the stick. Greenwhich Flint Craft (GFC) was a line of glass, produced under it’s own name but was under the umbrella of a larger glassworks called Indiana Glass. GFC was a type of modern design/ art glass line, because Indiana Glass was known for more work aday practical glass and they wanted to expand into the art glass/decor market. Then they hired a man named Tom Connally as their new head designer. Connally answered a job advertisement in the Muncie Press for an assistant glass designer position at IG in 1961. When Arthur Harshman offered him the position, he accepted. He’d never designed a piece of glass but was confident that he could do so. His innate aesthetic sensitivity, boldless creativity, and appreciation of elegant design were his best tools for the job. Vintage Greenwich Flint-Craft is the visual testimony. This Korean War era veteran from Fort Wayne, IN, artist, teacher, set designer, exibits and display creator, was now becomming a glass designer. Tom loved good contemporary art whether in glass, furniture, painting (his favorite style was abstract expressionism), architecture, clothing, etc. He was very proud of GFC and its strong commitment to aesthetics. He was an admirer of Scandinavian Design. His GFC line was only in production for 3 years, beginning in 1969 and ending in 1972.

RARE Set of 3 Greenwich Flint Craft MidCentury Large Vases By Tom Connally
An exceptionally rare and stunning set of three (3) authentic mid-century modern swung vases designed by the celebrated artist Tom Connally. These pieces are from the highly sought-after Greenwich Flint-Craft line, a high-end, hand-blown collection produced by the Indiana Glass Company for a very limited time between 1969 and 1972. These are not your average mid-century vases. The Greenwich Flint-Craft line was created to compete with the finest art glass of the era, and these vases are a testament to that quality and artistic vision. Each vase features the signature “Burnt Honey” color-a gorgeous, fiery amber that transitions into a deep, rich brown at the base and rim. The elegant, hand-stretched “swung” form makes each piece a unique, sculptural work of art. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a matched set of three, two large vases and a smaller vase. Perfect for the serious collector of Mid-Century Modern glass or anyone looking to make a dramatic statement with authentic, high-end vintage decor. The Story Behind the Vases. Tom Connally, was the creative force behind the short-lived but highly collectible Greenwich Flint-Craft line. Connally designed approximately 70 unique, hand-blown pieces for this collection. The distinctive amber and brown gradient color of your vases was a signature of the line, officially marketed as Burnt Honey. The elongated, flowing shape of the vases is a hallmark of the mid-century “swung” glass technique, where a glass piece was reheated and then spun or “swung” by the glassmaker, using centrifugal force to stretch it into a tall, elegant form. This process makes each vases unique. These pieces are often mistaken for the work of other prominent companies like Blenko or Viking, but aredifferent. Why These Are a Special Find. Limited Availability: The Greenwich Flint-Craft line was only produced for about three years, making these pieces incredibly scarce compared to other glass from the era. Finding a single vase is difficult; finding a curated set of three is almost unheard of. High-End Collectibles: Do your research! Single vases of this caliber by Tom Connally often command premium prices on high-end vintage marketplaces. Designer Provenance: Attributed to the visionary designer Tom Connally, these pieces are a significant part of American art glass history. Designer: Tom Connally. Maker: Indiana Glass Company. Line: Greenwich Flint-Craft. Color: Burnt Honey (Amber/Brown Ombre). Style: Swung Art Glass / Floor Vases. Quantity: Set of 3 Vases – 2 Large and 1 Small. Approximate Dimensions: 2 Large Vase: 21″ and a Small Vase: 17″. Great collectable condition as seen in the picturs. The glass is vibrant and clear with beautiful clarity. Each vase will be individually wrapped with multiple layers of bubble wrap and packed securely in a sturdy box with ample padding to ensure they arrive safely at your door.
