RARE Fürstenberg WAGENFELD MCM Bauhaus CELADON 7 Plates Award Winning FORM 639
VINTAGE FURSTENBERG’WAGENFELD’ FORM 639 CELADON 7 SALAD/BREAKFAST/SIDE PLATES. I believe this is an earlier late 30’s/early 40’s edition based on backstamp and rare Celadon color. Design by famed Bauhaus designer Wilhelm Wagenfeld winning design award in 1937 World Expedition in Paris. Introduced as FORM 639 in the same year. Quintessential example of the simple, sleek form of the modern Bauhaus movement that remains popular today. This is a perfect example of Mid Century Modern style. Primarily produced in a solid White or w/White with a stripe, this CELADON color is a RARE find. The hard to define color is a cross between pale green, blue and grey. True color is difficult to capture in photographs. I would describe it as a pale sage green w/a grey undertone. There are a number of pieces in this collection including various sized/style teapots, platters, cups and saucers, cake plates, creamer. Please take a look at my other auctions and don’t hesitate to reach w/questions. Please review photographs as they serve as an important part of condition/description. Please be assured, I pack very carefully with plenty of padding as needed to ensure item(s) arrives in the same excellent condition. Please send me a message to request this. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or requests you might have!

Ferro Murano Opaline Celadon Rare Vintage Art glass Vase Labeled 6h Pristine
This is a very rare Celadon Opaline vase by the famous Fratelli Ferro studios, in our family collection for many decades. Probably from the 1940s or’50s judging from the two foil labels; we think it is a recreation of an ancient Venetian glass technique inspired by Ming dynasty jade and pottery vessels exported to Venice centuries ago. Most of the Murano pieces we see called “opaline” or’opalino are cased, with the inner layer made of opalescent or pearlescent glass. This exquisite piece is pure translucent celadon glass, thick in body and rising to the. Mouth to an amazing 1/8 thickness. Doubly amazing because it in wholly undamaged, issue-free, pristine condition. Only ware is on the labels from cleaning most probably. A bit of movement marking on the flat polished bottom is slight. We have data banks galore and cannot find another example of this type of Venetian glass though Ferro family studios are ancient, like the Barovier. And Toso families, companies that have teamed up over the years, especially during the 1930s. Really glows in the light! Wish it was bigger, but it is so rare and beautiful, size is irrelevant. About 6″h and about 3″w at most. This was blown in the basic balustrade shape. The pale blue label says “Opaline” “Flli Ferro” “Murano”, the partial gold generic label says “Made in Italy”. This item is in the category “Pottery & Glass\Decorative Pottery & Glassware\Vases”. The seller is “ainoart” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.
