Anita Wolfenden is an artist that is known for her abstract weavings (like this one) and her paper collage art. She has her own website showing her art if you want to see more. The site mentions that she grew up in Sweden, graduated from the University of Lund, and came to the U. Her pieces are in many individual collections and institutions, and do not come up for sale very often. This weaving is about 33.25″ wide and 28.25″ tall, plus a 1.5 band across the top (a wood piece with black fabric over it). The back contains her signature, written on a piece of fabric that is sewn to the weaving. It must be made out of wool, as there are a bunch of spots where it looks like a moth got to it. Most of those spots are about 1/3 of the way up near the right edge.

This is a VERY RARE vintage 1960s Hungarian mid-century modern “Erika” moquette tapestry designed by László Pécsi. Measures 6 ft x 29.5 in. One loop to hang is missing, one can be easily replaced. Designer & Origin: Created by Hungarian industrial artist László Pécsi and produced by the state-owned Koszeg and Szombathely Home Textile & Upholstery Company (LakásTEXtil Vállalat). Design: Features a stylized, cubist depiction of working women in a red and brown/purple color palette. Material & Style: The piece is a woven moquette tapestry, a technique similar to velvet with a short, dense pile.

Rare Original Evelyn Ackermann Tapestry “Duck”. This is a handwoven wool tapestry. It measures 23 inches wide by 24 1/2 inches tall. The blue coloring has bled into the cream in the body of the bird. Additionally, the entire piece has faded over time. It still has very nice coloring. Otherwise the weave itself is in good condition. I imagine taking it to a professional restorer would help fix the bleeding and protect it for the future. It has the original label and signature in the tapestry. Evelyn Ackerman and her husband are attributed with creating the California mid-century modern movement. Happy to answer questions and send additional photos.
