RARE Raul Coronel Studio Pottery Table Lamp WOW. February 28th, 1926 is a Mexican sculptor and stoneware designer. Influenced by Mexican, Mesoamerican, African, and Greek Art, Coronel was a diverse potter and was known for his abstract approach to making his art. He amassed an array of work varying from functional wheel-thrown pots and bottles, to tableware and handbuilt planters, lamps, wall screens and more. He would also create wall murals made of clay for both domestic and business settings. He completed his B. At the California State University, Los Angeles. Coronel would later continue his studies at the University of Southern California where he would receive his M. By 1955, Coronel opened up a ceramic studio and store in Venice called “Stoneware Designs West” where he would continue to create his work until his retirement from ceramics.
