Vintage MCM 1960’s -70s Mid Century Modern Gruvwood Table Lamp W/ Original Shade. Shade a little discolored consistent to age and use with some light spots. NO RIPS ON SHADE. LAMP BASE in great condition with a scratch of black off on top of base, hardly noticeable. Unique SHADE is adorned with wood slats around top of shade to match the base. You might want to clean the shade with a shade cleaner? VERY RARE SHADE WITH THIS STYLE OF LAMP. LOOKS TO BE TEAK OR WALNUT from that ERA. NOT A WOOD EXPERT THO SO MAKE YOUR OWN ASSUPMTION. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage MAJESTIC table lamp complete with its original matching cylindrical fiberglass shades. The lamp takes on an atomic / floral appearance. Materials: Ebonized wood, brass, metal floral leaves in black and gold. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch on the bottom of the base which allows for three-way functionality… One twist lights up the two main sockets, a second twist allows the two small sockets within the brass cups to light up, and a third and final twist lights everything up at once. The fiberglass shades are designed to thread directly onto the light sockets. At the same time, it’s both a fantastic and strange lamp that’ll light up any modern interior setting! Measurements: With the shades attached, the lamp stands approx. 28″ tall (measured from he bottom of the base to the top of the higher shade) x 20″ wide. Each of the shades measures approx. 8″ tall x 6″ in diameter. The rounded oval base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 11.5″ wide x 6″ deep. Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good condition. There are a few cosmetic things which we’ll mention here. First off, the oval rounded base looks to have been repainted at one point in time. There is a little wear to the black color, mainly on the back side where the flat metal panels come into contact with the base (see photos). It isn’t anything major whatsoever, but we’re mentioning it to be accurate. The black center metal panel has a faint scratch mark on it, but being that it’s black, it’s really hard to notice – you have to be looking for it to notice it. The shades are free from rips, holes, tears, stains, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing looks like it may have been redone – it’s completely intact with no issue to report. The green felt on the underside of the lamp had disintegrated, so we took it upon ourselves to replace it. Under the felt if the original “Majestic” label (see photo). When applying the new felt, we only adhered it around the edges so as to not allow any adhesive to get onto the label itself. The electrical wiring is in good shape – no frays, split, exposed and/or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare set of sculptural abstract wood comedy and tragedy / theater wall hanging plaques. Circa’50s /’60s. While unsigned, they do remind us a little of Heifetz. Each has a hanging tab recessed into the back surface. They’ll make a great addition to any mid century modern setting! The comedy mask measures approx. 16″ tall x 7.5″ wide x 1.25 deep. The tragedy mask measures approx. 16″ tall x 8″ wide x 1.25 deep. Condition: Both plaques are in very good condition. There are some minor surface blemishes / imperfections in the wood, but nothing that we’d consider bad at all – please see all of the accompanying photos. We have not attempted to clean or polish either of the plaques as we felt they display great just as they are. They’re ready to be enjoyed in a new home! Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this very rare and highly collectable Edmond J Spence Checkerboard sideboard in light walnut circa 1960’s. Spence This very interesting sideboard by an American designer was created in the mid-20th century. Edmond Spence’s piece was also made of walnut wood, but with a slightly different coloration than the two earlier mentioned mid-century sideboards. The most interesting element in this piece is the front – the individual drawers create an interesting effect of irregular texture. Thanks to this, Spence’s furniture is unique. This piece is super stylish and looks important expensive and interesting in any setting, its so rare to see such depth in a piece. Condition wise is very good as you can see, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks here and there. Width:- 198.5cm. This stunning MCM table lamp is amazing. It’s red fractile acrylic/ resin. From the finale to base is34 inches. The shade and the base have a finish which gives the look of crinkled copper/ metal. The shade is 48 inches around. The acrylic portion is 16 inches itself and is 5.5in at the base and is graduated to 16 in around at the top. This piece Wei’s 12.6 pounds. It appears to have been rewired and is in perfect working condition. If you are looking for a statement piece this is it.
