Authentic original vintage signed Plycraft chair lounger and ottoman set. Rare blonde wood model with original off white leather upholstery. Both armrests have some pinholes. However, these should be an easy fix as these armrests are separate from the main body of the chair lounger. Also some light chrome pitting, but overall a super original condition set in great working order. Looks great in a white or light themed room, very “Atomic” look with the blonde wood. Chair is beautiful and in excellent condition. It comes with the matching ottoman which is rare. We are told it is Brazilian Rosewood but i have no way to confirm that. We have also been told it is Louro Negro. We are not that well versed in wood types. But if you look at the pictures of the wood closeups… It is a very beautiful wood for sure. I have read it can either be Brazilian Rosewood or Jacaranda or Louro Negro… I wish i knew. Coveted and highly collectible is this 1960’s lounge chair and footstool crafted by French designer, Jean Gillon. This piece is constructed out of Brazilian wood and the chair has an intricate rope hammock seat and footrest. The piece is in very good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. We had the leather professionally re-stained. Overall the piece is an 8 out of 10. This piece is for the avid collector. There’s only one and when it’s gone. It’s gone forever. Vintage Charles Pollock Knoll Mid-Century Modern Chrome & Leather (black). A beautiful chair, manufactured in early 1980s. From Estate of Aircraft Manufacturing Executive, 2 Beautiful and Nice 1980’s Knoll Charles Pollock Chairs in very good condition. Leather is soft and supple on each chair and looks great. We took the pictures outside to show the condition of the leather! No tears, rips, holes or missing buttons. These outstanding Chairs were used in a very nice conversation area and the arms were removed, and custom bases were added to make them more stylish for the environment. The Beautiful Rug that that is shown under these collectible chairs is part of the Estate and for sale also! These chairs were part of the over-all character of the Mid Century Modern furnishings and feel of the entire estate. This chair is hard to come by and should be on any collectors wishlist. 5646 chair designed by Edward wormley for Dunbar furniture consists of a walnut barrel back with solid paddle arms and was recently upholstered in a beige edelman leather. 23″ W x 24″D x 31″ H with a seath height of 19″ at the front. Two veneer patches that blend pretty well can be seen in the last two photos. New edelman leather which is super durable and is a creamy beige color. Foam in the back rest is firm. East coast deliveries are more frequent. If you are on the west coast it may take longer to get it to you. An option I will visit if you desire. POLICIES:I sell as found vintage items. If the item has been refinished it will be noted under the condition report heading above. As these items are vintage you should expect appropriate wear from a piece that has been around for 50-60 years. I do my best to note any damage but sometimes it can be missed. The objects came all from one collection and have been acquired directly from the workshop in the period 1960-70. All objects are in very good condition. As the objects have been intended as a collection from the beginning, the preowner got them directly from the workshop and carefully selected only objects with a very special / beautiful pattern of the horn. This offer is for an original Auböck chess set. The design dates back to the 1950s. The Auböck horn objects are all unmarked, as the material did not allow it. 100% original Carl Auböck and vintage. The material is natural horn, nickel plated brass (figures); leather (board) and wood (tray). The figures are all in pristine condition, made from dark and bright horn and nickel plated brass. They are heavy, the figures, together with the tray weigh about 3.4kg! The leather board is in very good condition with regular signs of use and age. Shows a nice patina with smaller scratches and stains. No cracks or similar flaws. The complete set is clean. The board measures 39x39cm (15.3×15.3). The figures measure from 42mm (pawns) to 94mm (king) in height. One inch is 25.4mm. The models from the Auböck horn collection are no longer in production. A short introduction about the Werkstätte Carl Auböck. Der Wiener Maler und Designer Carl Auböck II zählt zu den bemerkenswertesten Künstlerpersönlichkeiten Österreichs. Anfang der 40er Jahre entwickelte Auböck jenen unverkennbaren Stil für Gebrauchs-gegenstände gehobenener Wohnkultur, der ihn nach Ende des Krieges im In- und Ausland berühmt machte. Den Höhepunkt bildete die Mailänder Triennale 1954, auf der Auböck vier Goldmedaillen für sein Werk erhielt. Nach seinem Tod führte sein Sohn Carl Auböck III (1924 1993), gemeinsam mit seiner Frau Justine, die Werkstätte weiter. Er hatte zuvor ein Architekturstudium in Wien und den USA absolviert, was auch in seinen an das Industrial Design anschließenden Entwürfen zum Ausdruck kommt. Neben der Tätigkeit als Meisterklasseleiter an der Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst in Wien seit 1977 und seinem internationalen Engagement für Architektur, Design, Produktentwicklung und Forschung, entstehen laufend neue Modelle für die Kollektion der Werkstätte. In dieser Zeit entwickelt sich der Betrieb zu einer Produktionsstätte von internationalem Rang. Auböck Design wird in den folgenden Jahrzehnten in allen Metropolen bei den ersten Adressen (Tiffany, Saks, Harrods) angeboten. Pierre Paulin Globe Lounge Chair and ottoman by Artifort. With its elegantly rounded shell on a chromed tubular base, the Globe Chaise has all the qualities of a comfortable modern chaise. The Globe Lounge Chair was designed by French designer Pierre Paulin for Artifort in 1959/60. Pierre Paulin trained to become a sculptor in Paris but an unfortunate accident left one of his hands partially impaired. Pierre Paulin was able to infuse the free-flowing curves of sculpture into his fabulous chairs. This careful balance of rounded free-flowing design is typical of Pierre Paulin’s organic furniture style. The simplicity and gently curved forms of his Globe Lounge Chair makes the design seem tranquil, pure and inviting.
