This model features its original waffle patterned milk torchiere shade and the light tan/beige metal shade that fits neatly on top of it. The lamp base is in very good condition but the shade has a few dents they are certainly not too unsightly and blend to nearly unnoticeable from a normal distance. Very clean with minimal other signs of wear and age, the lamp was obviously well cared for. The height is about 20 1/2″ and the width of the shade is about 14 3/4″. This large hand thrown, hand painted ceramic bowl comes from Sweden. It was fabricated in the late 1950’s. The design is truly the very best of Mid Century work. It is a one of a kind studio piece which has never been used. The condition is truly exceptional. Also there is real gold used in the painted surface. The fish is magical. Perfect in color and form. Very much in the spirit of the later works of Braque and Klee. The work is solid and has great weight and strength. Just about 4 pounds. It makes a perfect centerpiece or accent to any end table. Overall, in very nice condition, with minor, yet conducive, signs of age/wear. Some extremely minor pitting in a few places. Photos #8 & 9 show the worst of it, which definitely isn’t much, barely noticeable. The mirror shows some de-silvering where it was glued on on the back… Lends its vintage character to this original & amazing C. Jere piece, however, re-silvering is a fairly simple process! Up for your consideration is a very rare and hard to find Flour Canister in the Franciscan Starburst pattern. This canister measures 9 1/4 tall (not including the lid) and is the largest of the four canisters. This canister is in almost mint condition with the exception of a tiny pin prick on the rim (please see picture above). Also, the canister does have extensive “peppering” but I find that normal with this pattern. Starburst is a decaled pattern which was introduced in 1954. It features small and large blue and yellow dots through which black lines radiate. The vessel shape was named Eclipse and was designed by George James. This set of canisters will make a wonderful addition to your Starburst collection.
