Vintage CURTIS JERE Mid-Century Modern Brass Table Lamp. Polished Brass Table-top Lamp. 3-way switch (with the right bulb). Lamp shade 15-3/8″ W x 9-3/8″D. Rectangular base 14″W x 5-3/4″D. This lamp was very hard to photograph due the bright finish… Like taking pictures of a mirror! There are some scratches, which I have pictured. One very small 1/2 hairline dent on the small side of the shade, which I have pictured. These few blemished are really over-shadowed by this VERY COOL LAMP! We are not experts in this arena BUT we try to the best of our ability to accurately describe our merchandise and its condition. Most of our items are antique or vintage. RARE AND FABULOUS ANTIQUE MODERN ABSTRACT BIRD WALL SCULPTURE BY REVERED MODERNIST SCULPTOR C JERE. THIS WORK IS COMPRISED OF A GROUP OF EXOTIC MODERNIST SCULPTED BIRDS. SIGNED AND DATED 1971 BY C JERE. BASED ON EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, ONLY A FEW OF THESE WERE MADE. DIMENSIONS: 30″ H x 15″ W. Known for: Collaborative sculpture, Artisan House-even signed pieces are studio works. Name variants: C Jere, Jerry collaboration record Fels, Curtis Freiler, Curtis collaboration record Freiler, A Curtis Jere. Jeré is a metalwork artist of wall sculptures and household accessories. Jeré works are made and marketed by the corporation Artisan House. Curtis Jere is a compound nom-de-plume of artists Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels. The two founders combined pieces of their names to create the C. Modernism magazine interviewed Jerry Fels shortly before his death in October 2008. According to the resulting article in the Spring 2007 issue of Modernism magazine, page 116, the company was founded in 1963 by Fels and his brother-in-law Curtis (Kurt) Freiler. Freiler was the production chief, and Fels was the head of design. Their goal was to produce gallery-quality art for the masses. Artisan House sculptures are no longer made in California.
