Laurel Lamp Co Reggiani Design Italy Mid Century Modern Chrome Globe. This is an eye catching Mid Century Modern, Goffredo Reggiani design table lamp for Laurel Lamp Co circa 1960s. Great Mod era chrome metal base / holder with large white glass globe. Lamp has a 3 way switch, works fine, wiring appears sound. Marked on the inside of the metal fixture with blue UL paper label marked Laurel Lamp Mfg Co. We could not find anything on the internet similar to this great lamp, possibly a prototype? Goffredo Reggiani did several designs similar to this for his own lighting company in Italy, Reggiani Lighting founded 1957. Item measures 18 ½ tall x 10 ½ wide overall, with the white glass globe measuring 9 ½ across and the chrome stand 10 ½ wide x 12 tall. Cord is about 12 feet long. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Pierre Paulin Globe Lounge Chair and ottoman by Artifort. With its elegantly rounded shell on a chromed tubular base, the Globe Chaise has all the qualities of a comfortable modern chaise. The Globe Lounge Chair was designed by French designer Pierre Paulin for Artifort in 1959/60. Pierre Paulin trained to become a sculptor in Paris but an unfortunate accident left one of his hands partially impaired. Pierre Paulin was able to infuse the free-flowing curves of sculpture into his fabulous chairs. This careful balance of rounded free-flowing design is typical of Pierre Paulin’s organic furniture style. The simplicity and gently curved forms of his Globe Lounge Chair makes the design seem tranquil, pure and inviting. This set comes in original purple leather upholstery in very good vintage condition. Light cracks out of using on the seat (see picture).
