Authentic original complete OMNI wall unit designed by George Nelson aka Comprehensive Storage System (CSS). The OMNI shelf bracket is compatible with the CSS poles/uprights. This is the Flip door in white. NO POLES are included! This is an add-on. You must already have the poles. The set is in excellent condition. White original panels, black brackets. My parents had a complete setup for years. This is the last piece left. The 2 shelves are not Omni. My father made them to go with the panels. Vintage Pepe Mendoza (57 Pieces) Mid Century Modern Door Cabinet Pulls Rare Set. Pepe Mendoza, Mexican Modernism at its finest, Made in Mexico 1958. This is a extremely rare and unique collection of Pepe Mendoza door and cabinet pulls. The collection includes a total of 57 items ranging from feathered serpent god door pulls, maya codex, oval knobs, and two different rectangle pulls. These are all from one house built in the 1960s. The home was one of several movie locations for, Tiger by the Tail, filmed in New Mexico. Several Pepe Mendoza door pulls can be seen in different movie scenesOne at front gate entrance to pool sidewalk, another at front door entrance at night, two more at beginning of hallway scene to opening the front door, and several during kitchen scene. Very nostalgic to see these vintage items captured during that moment and time. This collection is large and very rare to have so many pieces listed at once. This large collection could finish your mid century modern renovation or add that WOW factor to your living space. Dont miss this opportunity. Original vintage preowned unrestored condition. Vintage patina, scuffs present. Mendoza foundry mark to the bottom of most pieces. Some items display label MENDOZA PAT 59443 May 7-58 HECHO EN MEXICO, a few display PAT PENDING. Also stamped in mold. José Mendoza was a designer with a metal foundry in Mexico City operating under the registered trade name of Pepe Mendoza. He produced brass/bronze decorative accessories. His work is characterized by a cloisonné-type/enamel technique and designs were mostly based upon pre-Columbian motifs which he modernized to conform Mexican and international tastes. Many modernists designers used Pepe Mendoza´s hardware to embellish their furniture pieces during the 1950s and 1960s. Beware of fakes and copycats, look for the Mendoza foundry mark. A vintage, mid century modern single door by American artist Edgar Britton, with eight small windows of varying, quadrilateral shapes. The wide door surround is carved with a sun, two birds, leaves, fish, the moon and a star, Zonta Chapel, a horse and turtle. The surround retains the original black and grey baseboard. The handle is carved is a Z-shape. Born in Nebraska, Edgar Britton was a painter, muralist and sculptor. He worked in Iowa with Grant Wood from 1920-24 and then moved to Chicago in 1925, where he worked on various architectural commissions. Due to health reasons he moved to Colorado in 1942 where he remained until his death. Britton taught at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center and focused mainly on creating sculpture during this period. Edgar Britton (American, 1901-82). Carved monogram (lower right): EB. Great mid century Omni shelf unit by George Nelson. The wood shelves were made by my dad in the 60’s, but the rest is authentic Omni. I added a pic of the price sheet that shows the parts (flip door, end panel and brackets). They are pictured to show the 3rd shelf. 3 white wood shelves (not Omni) 32.5″ W x 12.25″ D – 1 white Omni flip door for cabinet 32.5″ W x 14″ H – 2 Omni mounting pins and 2 nylon bumpers and 1 rubber one (all with Omni T-nuts) – 2 white Omni end panels 14″ H x 12″ D (they fit on the brackets) – 6 black Omni 12 shelf brackets with T-nuts, support clips and screw hole covers The pieces are in very good vintage condition, wear is consistent with age and use. There may be a few minor dings or scratches, but they are hardly noticeable. This unit has been in my parent’s home since 1970. They are free anyway, but heavy. Well taken care of, non-smoking and pet free home. Thank you for looking.
