1960s St Charles Cabinets RARE Cherry Fronts
FULL SET of Vintage midcentury St Charles cabinets. In good shape for age. Door and drawer fronts are painted solid cherry- need to be repainted or stripped for beautiful wood grain (see photo of stripped drawer). Cabinet interiors are the classic St Charles steel. Amazing details like unlacquered brass hardware, St Charles logos, swing-out shelves for small items in upper cabinets, and a lined, locking cabinet for silver storage. Also includes five amazing tall locker-style cabinets- not often seen in other St Charles sets. Additional custom solid cherry shelf system and panels included. Charles Eames Lounge Chair 670 Rare Original 1959 Herman Miller in Good Cond
Charles Eames Lounge Chair 670 – Rare Original 1959 Herman Miller in Good Condition. Listed for sale is a remarkably well-preserved first edition 1959 Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair. With gorgeous 5 ply Brazilian rosewood panels, rubber shock mounts, three arm screws, silver round disc clips, and down-filled cushions, this example is in good original condition. Famously described as a special refuge from the strains of modern living, the iconic Eames Lounge Chair is one of the most significant designs of the 20th century. Unparalleled craftsmanship and rigorous attention to detail made it a fixture in homes across the world. Attached is a 1959 photo of the lounge chair in the newly completed house, designed by my father, that I now live in. The shell and cushions show some wear and imperfections as is typical for chairs of this vintage. The curved rosewood plywood shells have five layers and do not show any chips or damage. Brazilian rosewood (Dalbergia Nigra) veneer manufacturing was discontinued in 1990, due to harvesting restrictions species protection. Has original circular silver cushion clips. The die-cast aluminum posts, base and parts are in nice condition and shine appropriately. Original black paint on metal parts is intact. Metal armrest struts have three black screws (thus pre-1971). There are minor cosmetic scratches on the aluminum backrest posts and outer plywood shell. The original’Patent Pending’ paper label is still affixed to the bottom of chair (see photo). HM foil label fell off and was misplaced. Original rubber shock mounts are in great shape (one failed armrest shock mount was replaced in 1987 by a Herman Miller dealer). There are some scratches on the leather armrest cushions. The bottom seat cushion black leather was also replaced at that time due to extensive wear, but the plastic backing is original. One grommet on the seat was separated from the plastic backing and was repaired. Can send more photos upon request. Decide whether you prefer patina or refurbishment. This mid vintage office chair, model PSCC-4, was designed during the 1960s by Charles & Ray Eames and manufactured in the United States by Herman Miller. The base is made from lacquered steel and the seat is made from fiberglass. The cushions are upholstered original blue fabric. Adjustable set height via threaded rod. Authentic Mid Century Modern Rare Charles Eames Vitra La Chaise Chair-Excellent
100% Authentic Eames La Chaise. This chair retains the original Vitra markings from 1998. There are two small chips along the back edge of the chair as depicted in the pictures. This is super minimal and not visible from the front. It is truly a piece of art. If you know what this is, you know how rare they are. These chairs had much more chipping than this chair and were classified as excellent condition. Accordingly, I will at least call this excellent condition if not near mint vintage condition. I will work with any shipper of the buyers choice. Charles and Ray designed this lounge chair for The Museum of Modern Arts 1948 International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design. Its name references both its function as well as Gaston Lachaises. Sculpture, whose shape the Eameses thought would fit the chair perfectly. Comprised of two bonded fiberglass shells, a chromed base, and natural oak feet, the chair exhibits a captivating elegance and allows for a wide range of sitting and reclining positions. It wasnt until 1996 that the long-time Eames partner, Vitra International, began manufacturing and distributing the La Chaise in response to public interest and demand. Today, the chair serves as a long-established icon of organic design. It is available exclusively from Vitra. We took the pictures outside to show the condition of the leather! No tears, rips, holes or missing buttons. These outstanding Chairs were used in a very nice conversation area and the arms were removed, and custom bases were added to make them more stylish for the environment.
