Fleming was an accomplished artist who studied under the legendary Marguerite Wildenhain at the renowned Pond Farm community in Guerneville, California, earning his MFA in 1963. This hand-thrown stoneware piece showcases Fleming’s signature modernist aesthetic. It features an earthy, speckled matte glaze accented by incised geometric linear patterns and dark abstract slip details. The distinct flared silhouette is topped with its original, perfectly fitted lid featuring a striking dark-rimmed button knob. The bottom is incised with the artist’s authentic mark.
