Offered for sale: MCM Brutalist Mid Century Modern LAST SUPPER Wall Sculpture Candle Rare JESUS. This is RARE find… Truly an amazing work of Brutalist Figurative art. This style is characterized by raw, textured surfaces and simplified, expressive human forms, similar to works by artists like Ruth Bloch or Krishna Reddy. The piece is crafted from a combination of copper, brass, and wood. The figures are mounted behind a long, curved wooden stave, which appears to be reclaimed, possibly from a barrel. (5) small metal candle cups are integrated into the design. There are (13) figures individual crafted/mounted to the wood with Jesus in the middle and a “halo” above his head. Sitting to his right is John the Apostle with his head resting on Jesus’s shoulder. Back has (2) hooks for hanging/mounting on the wall. Item is used and in good condition. Shows signs of wear consistent with use and storage but nothing major. I have decided not to clean this item and leave its original “as-found” patina. I will leave this for its new owner to decide. Up for your offering is this stunning and super rare vintage Space-Age mid-century modern art glass lamp from the 1960’s-70’s. The lamp has design and quality characteristics of lamps created by Venini and Massimo Vignelli, but I cannot say for certain that this is one of their designs. The lamp is made of what appears to be hand blown canary yellow glass cased over a white interior and sits inside a black metal base. The lamp is very rare, super sculptural, and displays sort of an opaque yellow hue when illuminated. After much research I could not found who the designer was or who produced the lamp. To change the bulb the glass mushroom shade can easily removed from its metal base. The lamp will be a striking conversation piece to any room in your home or office. Get it while you can and you will have one of the very few in the world! The lamp is quite sizable measuring approximately – 16 1/2″ tall x 11 1/2″ wide.
