They measure about 28 inches to the top of the shade. The shades are about 15 inches wide and about 5 inches tall. The dusc look likecwood but i believe they are metal. The pull chains have metal balls to pull. Cords look fraye so i have not plugged in. There is onecstain on one of the shades please ask any questions. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a RARE vintage MAJESTIC table lamp with its original accompanying fiberglass shades. The lamp base is constructed of banded brass components, and has both off-white and black wooden accent pieces. The shades are an off-white color, and they have brown squiggly filaments running throughout. There is an on/off toggle switch located on the base which allows the lamp 3-way functionality: either one or the other sockets can be lit up independently of the other, or both can be set to light up at the same time. There is a protective cork pad on the underside of the base which looks like it may have been a replacement. Not sure if they original Majestic label is underneath that as we have not made an attempt to remove it to further investigate. This lamp will make a great addition to any mid century modern interior setting! With the fiberglass shades attached, the lamp stands an impressive 35″ tall x 23″ wide. The distance to the upper light socket is approx. 27 high, and the lower socket approx. Each of the fiberglass shades measures approx. 13″ wide x 8″ tall x 8 deep. The black lacquered base at the bottom measures approx. 11″ wide x 7″ deep x 1.75 tall. Condition: While not perfect, overall we’d say the lamp is in very good, all-original vintage condition for its age. The banded brass components are in great shape – they shine nicely. The white wood component shows a little color variation between the front and back sides – possibly due to sunlight – we’re not 100% certain. The black wood components show a tiny amount of color loss, and it looks as though the base may have had color loss that was touched up at one point in time. None of this is really major, nor does it affect anything – we’re solely making mention of it for accuracy. Moving onto the shades. The front and back panels of the shades are in great shape. The upper-most part of the panels have a few cracks in the material. Everything is intact and tight with respect to the cracks, and they can only be noticed if you are looking down at them, and even then they are hard to see because they blend away with the brown squiggle filaments in the shade material (see photos). These cracks most likely resulted from a previous owner not putting on / taking off the shades with care. Aside from that, the lacing is intact on both shades and there are no burn marks or anything like that on either of them. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape. We would still strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use as the lamp is vintage, just to be safe. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition in its current state. Both parcels will be fully insured for the final value of the sale. The Base is a Round Red Enamel Metal Base with Brass Body and Lamp Hardware. It Has the Original Matching Fiberglass Lamp Shades. The Lamp Has Two Brass Arms with Single Brass Sockets with Push Button Switches. The Lamp Measures approx. 25 1/2″ Tall to the Top of the Shade, or 18 1/4″ Tall to the Top of the Socket. This listing is for an amazing pair of mid-century modern table lamps with original fiberglass atomic shades. The lamps are circa 1950s and despite some minor issues they are in overall beautiful, vintage condition. The lamps are approximately 18.5 to 19 inches tall with the shade on. The shade is approximately 10 inches across the top. This is a 3-way lamp. The base lights up, the top lights up, and you can have them both on at the same time to set the perfect mood. The main body of each lamp is made of glass with a metal mount on the bottom. The bodies appear to be in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks or chips. The fiberglass shades are also in excellent condition with no holes or cracks. There are a some light stains in a few spots but they can be turned to the back… And I have not attempted to remove them by cleaning. The metal bases have some oxidation as photos show. I tried to show the worst of the worst on one of the lamps. Both lamps have some of the oxidation in places. Again, I have not attempted to clean the oxidation but I would assume it will not come off. The lamps look beautiful as they are, but it would be simple to remove the bases and spray paint them if you want them to look perfect. The only other issue is that while the cords work and are not brittle, they are original and if I kept the lamps I would replace them. I didnt do that because some purists like to do that themselves. In addition, I would use a gold-colored cord while the originals are white. So I will let lucky winner choose the color for themselves. One of the cords was cut and a new piece was spliced in. Again, it works fine but I would replace it. The base of the lamps are lit with a common nightlight 4 or 5 watt bulb. In the end, I really like the green bulb best and that is what I took photos with and that is what lucky winner will receive. I will leave those in. They are very simple to take out and replace as you see fit. I could go on and on about this pair of fine lamps. They are so incredibly beautiful! To find one of these lamps in this condition is a great find. But to find a pair is a rare opportunity indeed! This pair of Atomic MCM chalkware base lamps with fiberglass shades are really unique and RARE. They are signed on the base ORIGINAL ART with I think a date and a C with a circle around it. They measure 27 and one has a damaged metal finial and a plastic thread missing in one area (see pic). These are such neat lamps and sure to be the focus of conversations. The chains on the fitters need replaced and they are from a smoke free home.
