Chair is beautiful and in excellent condition. It comes with the matching ottoman which is rare. We are told it is Brazilian Rosewood but i have no way to confirm that. We have also been told it is Louro Negro. We are not that well versed in wood types. But if you look at the pictures of the wood closeups… It is a very beautiful wood for sure. I have read it can either be Brazilian Rosewood or Jacaranda or Louro Negro… I wish i knew. Coveted and highly collectible is this 1960’s lounge chair and footstool crafted by French designer, Jean Gillon. This piece is constructed out of Brazilian wood and the chair has an intricate rope hammock seat and footrest. The piece is in very good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. We had the leather professionally re-stained. Overall the piece is an 8 out of 10. This piece is for the avid collector. There’s only one and when it’s gone. It’s gone forever.
