Rare, original Alvino Bagni ceramic Meridian clock, style #7589, imported by Raymor for the Howard Miller Clock Company. Black glaze with an abstract red swirl pattern that Bagni has used for vases and other items. Hands by George Nelson. A vintage mid-century modern decorator piece, circa 1960s. Measures about 13.25 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep (including mounting hardware). The clock takes a “C” battery and appears to keep time well. In very good condition – could use a more thorough cleaning, but I’ll leave that to someone who has a more gentle touch than I do. The only noticeable defect is the minute hand has a small crack and a 1/8-inch by 1/8-inch chip to the white finish, not unusually for surviving examples of the Meridan clock line. Fantastic 1955 Mid Century design by George Nelson. A Howard Miller wall clock model #6071. White painted aluminum case and yellow aluminum face. Dial is a sculptural design made of plastic with twelve points for the hours. The plastic has faded and is now a cream color but was originally white. There is no second hand. The minute hand has a slight bend at the end so it won’t hit the hour protrusions on the dial. There is a Howard Miller foil label on the clock motor. The clock case has two areas where the white paint has flaked exposing the aluminum underneath. I have included pictures of the Howard Miller Institutional Division catalogue that has the specifications and pictures of the model #6071 and also a photo of the 6071 in an advertisement from 1966. Here we have a SUPER RARE George Nelson designed Howard Miller clock. I have been collecting Howard Miller clocks for 40+ years and this is the only example of this model I’ve ever had. This clock appears in the 1968-69 HM catalog. I will include a reprint of the catalog page and the cover that the clock is in. Please feel free to make an offer for what you feel it’s worth. This clock is in great WORKING condition. Though the brass has some issues that you can see in the pictures, I don’t believe this clock was ever used. The plug still retains a plastic protector and there are no telltale signs of wall-rash. Someone did etch numbers on the backplate that are probably a model/stock #. The hands are about as pristine as you could ask for. I gladly welcome any and all offers! This item has been in my private collection for 30+ years. I found it in Zeeland, Mi, near the Herman Miller and Howard Miller factories. Thank you for your interest. I have decided to sell the bulk of my collection, which I began acquiring in the late 1970s. I have 1000s of rare (some not-so-rare), and desirable items. Rare, original Black Sheep Zoo Timer clock designed by George Nelson for Howard Miller, 1965. Seems to feature a signature (possibly George Nelson’s) on the model number sticker on the back of the clock. This is not a reproduction Zoo Timer clock. They have been reproduced by a number of companies over the years. The reproductions are battery powered whereas this Zoo Timer clock is powered through its original power cord (pictured). In original condition with noticeable cosmetic/superficial/surface level flaws/issues (see pictures). Clock displays minor scuffing, paint chipping, and other superficial blemishes throughout. This is a USED item. Original motor was working and clock was keeping time when tested prior to listing.
