Pair of 1970s, Mid Century Modern bamboo and rattan armchairs. Unique and rare design, with elements of Italian (Franco Albini) as well as Ficks Reed design to the overall appearance and bent wood (bamboo) structure. Incredibly sound and well made. The chairs are tall back (52) with original, gold velvet, upholstered backs. The velvet is clean and in very nice condition. It has a matching welt trim. The arms have brass hand rests. The seats are quite unique. The original, multicolored seat cushions are removable and reversible. The seat supports are rare. Rather than being rattan, as most of these chairs are, this pair has very strong, spring and woven metal supports. The pair are in very nice, original condition. There are slight scuffs and surface scratches in a few areas. There is slight wear to the rattan “ties”. The fabric backs and seat cushions are in very nice condition. They are not stained and there are no rips or tears. In general, very nice condition. Chairs are 52 tall. They are 28 wide at the widest sections of the arms. They are 26 deep. Seat height is 17″, width is 25″ and seat depth is 20.

History of Trifari Jewelry Trifari was established by Italian Gustavo Trifari, Leo Krussman and Carl Fishel in 1925. The company began by creating jewelry for actors in Hollywood, which raised the profile of the brand. It also capitalized on the increase in interest in costume jewelry, which came about during the Great Depression, when women couldn’t afford expensive fine jewelry. Trifari celebrity endorsements ads Mary Jane Russell, a fashion model, endorses Trifari in this ad campaign from the 50s. When renowned French jewelry designer Alfred Philippe (formerly at Van Cleef and Arpels) brought his expertise to the table, Trifari was transformed. Philippe remained at Trifari until his retirement in 1968 and it’s largely due to his ideas and vision that Trifari became a household name with pieces that are still collectible today. The Evolution of Trifari vintage signed crown trifari necklace A Trifari piece with a Pat. Pending (patent pending) mark. During the war, like all other jewelry brands, Trifari was forced to switch to different metals due to restrictions of materials. They began to use sterling silver at this time, which made Trifari’s jewelry prices rise dramatically. However, after the war when restrictions on metals were removed, Trifari switched back to using inexpensive, base metals. However, because customers like the look of silver, Trifari began to use a base metal that could be polished to achieve a silver-like luster, which they called Trifarium. You’ll still find Trifari jewelry in department stores today, but it’s the vintage designs that draw fashion lovers to the brand. Trifari as a stand-alone brand no longer exists, making vintage Trifari all the more valuable. What Defined Trifari Jewelry? Trifari zodiac pendant necklaces Trifari designs could be complex.
