For Sale Rare Vintage Mid Century Gerald Thurston for Lightolier Anywhere Lamp. I don’t say RARE very often. Just check out my listings. This is an exception. I have examples all over my house. Designed by Gerald Thurston in 1955, so a LONG TIME AGO. It is called an Anywhere lamp as you can put it almost, well, ANYWHERE. Hanging on a wall, as a table lamp, it is completely up to you. Thurston, what a clever fella. In excellent vintage shape but does not have the original shade. It once had a slatted, woven shade. The one I have works great but isn’t original. I have only seen 2 other examples of this and both had cracked/discolored plastic diffusers. This one is EXCELLENT. Other than that in really great shape. The switch works great. No electrical or mechanical issues. A rare and wonderful item, you will love it. DIMENSIONS – all approx. 19 with the shade in a normal position. Shade itself is 17 across. Original Mid-Century Modern Hanging Light from Italy in a simple and timeless design. Designed by Harvey Guzzini-Italy. The height-adjustable lamp has a spherical plastic shade that is white inside and beige outside. The slight color gradient in the lower part is also interesting (typical for Guzzini lights). A chrome-plated handle allows easy height adjustment. Thus it is also suitable as a dining table lamp. Only slight signs of wear, no breaks, cracks or rough scratches. This is an unusual find. Cado manufactured many wall units as can be seen on all presentation formats. The desk unit version was rare, in fact this is the only one I’ve seen. The desk has a fixed surface but has an extension flap which can be raised and is supported by two pull out wood supports underneath. The shelf and cabinet are adjustable in height by moving up and down on wall standards. As noted in condition, unit is supplied with only one bi-pass door and has a few areas that are damaged. Unfortunately some of the stains will remain. A total sanding down to raw wood is not warranted or advisable. If you are are interested, please contact me for discussion and pricing. The desk is 31 1/2″ x 47 1/4″ and with extension in place: 67. The top is 28 above the floor. The cabinet is 31 1/2″ wide, 16 3/4″ high and 14 7/8 deep. Ultra-Special Find for Those Seeking to Up Their MCM Decor. With 3 Circular Platforms of Decorative Mesh. I was so excited when I came upon this special piece. The design is just so retro and screams 1960’s. It is in very good condition with it’s original gold finish. It is great the way it is, but if one is looking for. A more sleek glossy finish, a quick coat of gold or silver metallic paint will make it one slick piece. I also had another thought if you are not necessarily a plant person. Each of the “platforms” has a very common 10 diameter. You could find round mirrors (probably at Hobby Lobby). An then you could use it to display anything. Just an all round fun blast from the past for the next lucky owner. Very, very good for a 60 year old piece. The metal is not bent anywhere and the joints are completely secure. The finish shows some wear on the tubular portions, but I took some close up pictures so that you can see it. It isn’t bad. The paint surface on the decorative mesh on the circular areas is completely intact with no paint loss. The stand measures 32″ wide, 23″ deep, and is 10 wide.
