Rare Mid-Century Ward Bennett for Leopold Dining Conference Table Desk Base
Rare cast metal table/desk base, which appears to be aluminum. This is the shortest of the 28 high table bases designed by Ward Bennett for Lehigh Leopold. This particular size was originally used with either a 36″ x 72″ rectangular rosewood top, or an oval walnut top. LAST 2 PICS ARE FOR REFERENCE. The base has a shiny mirror finish, and was recently polished by hand. It shows some minor dings on the legs, and light scratches -examples of which are shown in the pics. There is no intrusive damage, and presents beautifully as-is. All 4 leg glides are intact. Measurements: 27 3/4 high. Leg tip to leg tip: 42″ Long x 23″ deep. Ou could comfortably put a 60″-72″ long top on this base. For local pick-up in Pittsburgh 15218 zip code. I can refer you to a couple of blanket wrapped shippers. Super rare! George Nelson HOWARD MILLER clock eames girard noguchi era
Here we have a SUPER RARE George Nelson designed Howard Miller clock. I have been collecting Howard Miller clocks for 40+ years and this is the only example of this model I’ve ever had. This clock appears in the 1968-69 HM catalog. I will include a reprint of the catalog page and the cover that the clock is in. Please feel free to make an offer for what you feel it’s worth. This clock is in great WORKING condition. Though the brass has some issues that you can see in the pictures, I don’t believe this clock was ever used. The plug still retains a plastic protector and there are no telltale signs of wall-rash. Someone did etch numbers on the backplate that are probably a model/stock #. The hands are about as pristine as you could ask for. I gladly welcome any and all offers! This item has been in my private collection for 30+ years. I found it in Zeeland, Mi, near the Herman Miller and Howard Miller factories. Thank you for your interest. I have decided to sell the bulk of my collection, which I began acquiring in the late 1970s. I have 1000s of rare (some not-so-rare), and desirable items. I will be delighted if my long-hidden collection ends up on display as it deserves to be. The item “Super rare! Rare Early 1950's Knoll Model 145 Chairs (2)
A pair of seldom seen, early Knoll Model 145 chairs, designed by Kurt Nordstrom in 1954 for Knoll International. Produced only until 1960, these elegant chairs were created in Teak veneer with black tubular steel frames/legs, and have solid brass fittings. Very good condition with minor marks/scratches commensurate with their age. One chair has a missing spot of base veneer on the underside of the seat (see photos), and another small area with veneer that is intact but should be re-glued. Both of these spots are not visible unless the chair is upside down. Minor surface oxidation at some of the weld points on underside of chairs. Feet/gliders are solid birch, and both chairs retain their original early 50’s fabric Knoll labels. Fully original as far as we can tell with no modifications or structural damage, and sturdy enough to be used by us as occasional chairs in a design office for the past decade. These are museum-quality objects, measuring about 17.25″ wide by 19.25″ deep by 30.75 high. The item “Rare Early 1950’s Knoll Model 145 Chairs (2)” is in sale since Monday, March 16, 2020.
