40s SUPER DECO MID CENTURY MODERN STREAMLINE DESK BOOKCASE Rare SIKES FURNITURE
RARE ORIGINAL 1940s EARLY ART DECO STREAMLINE SIKES FURNITURE, BUFFALO, NY (In the vein of HEYWOOD WAKEFIELD) KNEE HOLE DESK WITH two secret little end bookcases in back. Round Maple ball Drawer knobs. Edges have a smooth waterfall curve. Center drawer has section for pens and pencils. This is a fabulous piece in my collection. SIKES was known for Office Chairs and I have yet to find a desk like this for sale! Ask if you want any more photos. THIS PIECE MEASURES 42″ WIDE X 25″ DEEP X 29 HIGH.. Condition is pretty excellent. FINISH IS GLOSS and has minor wear. 70+ YEARS OF NORMAL USE SIGNS. I have stored this for a number of years. Top has 2 spots I discovered after removing cover easily recoated and blended. There is a piece of scotch tape on drawer front I haven’t tried to remove and barely noticeable. Nothing broken or repaired. Located in Oyster Bay, NY area. A private mover would be best bet.
