Vintage Mid-Century desk was designed by Renzo Rutili for Johnson Furniture Company in the 1960’s. It features drawers on both sides to use it as a partners desk or to float it in a room. Two toned wood (maple and cherry) construction with elegant’x’ shaped legs on one side. Brass accents and drawer handles. Original stainless steel glides. SET OF TWO RARE MID CENTURY MODERN PENDANT LAMPS DESIGNED & MANUFACTURED PROBABLY IN 1960s, GERMANY Each 1 x E14 screw fit bulb holder. They are rewired and work both with 110 / 230 Volt. Dm 7.28 in. X H 7.87 in. Good original vintage condition. Wear consistent with use and age. One of the lamps has smal heat damage inside and slight cracks on the top where they are fixed with screws. Womb Chair & Ottoman 1st Generation KNOLL. This rare first generation Model 70 Chair and matching ottoman (VERY RARE to find both together from this period) more commonly known as the Womb Chair, by Eero Saarinen for Knoll Associates. Confirmed by the un-afixed label (which will be included) with the early 36-30 Steinway St Long Island City 1, N. Address (see pics) which predates the use of zip codes. The frame and feet match Knoll’s example for the 1948 first year productions for the iconic Womb Chair, and the matched label further supports this. This lounge chair and ottoman are being offered as as set for either a collector’s piece to keep and hold as-is with its current original hopsack (very Cato-esque) textile (I believe wool) or alternatively this could be a designer’s reupholstery project for the client who wishes to have the best of the best. I personally would look into having the fabric cleaned and repaired as a great deal of the fabric is still in amazing condition and it is so incredibly beautiful. The fabric shows signs of use and wear with a few tears and pulling, and the foam has hardened and is disintegrating. If regular use is intended, reupholstery with new foam and fabric (or leather) is advised. Additionally there is a small crack in one of the legs (see last pic) near the where the screw hole is. The Ottoman has some bent plywood delimitation (see 2nd to last pic) about 1.5-2 inches wide on both sides of the ottoman, which again is a minor repair if you were to choose to reupholster the piece. Please understand that everything on both the chair and ottoman are original and untouched. These 1st generation Womb chairs were made quite differently than modern production Womb Chais (bent plywood AND fiberglass) and as such it has a weight and presence that the new ones don’t have. Florence Knoll requested that Eero Saarinen design a chair like a basket full of pillows, the result was the groundbreaking Womb armchair. This iconic piece would be a great addition as part of a classic or contemporary living room, den, man or woman! Cave, family room, office or bedroom. It would also be an apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium. This has some average wear from use to the painted sides and front edges. The white plastic fronts are vibrant with light scuffs or wear. This is 50.5 high x 21.5 w x 19.5 d. This is for a mid century Architechtural Gainey Pottery Planter with heavy duty hanging chain. This is in a matte Terra Cotta color. Unmarked as all are. Total top diameter of appx 11 inches and appx 5 3/4 tall. Inside is maybe 5 1/4 deep. Not easiest measurement to get but very close. With chain and planter appr 31 1/2 high or tall. Pottery nice and thick. Older piece thats had usage but shows nicely. Has marks, staining, lime build up? On inside that have not tried to remove. Piece cleaned with soap and water only. 3 Glazing skip areas? Or air bubble breaks? Not sure what to call. Also one on outside by hang hole. No major breaks or anything to impeed structure of pottery. Please see ALL photos to see discrepancies in finish and on piece. Took most photos outside in brighter natual light.
