This is a beautiful, heavy, thick, and Sardinia Crystal oval vase was handmade in Italy. The Sadinia Crystal was called “The Murano Sarda”. Signed and marked on the bottom. Engraved Sardinia Crystal, C I 71, P 30 4. 2 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ Oval diameter at top. Oval diameter base: 2″ diameter x 1 3/4″. Hole at top 1 1/4 diameter. Vintage Mid Century RARE Signed Archimede Seguso Large Murano Modern Sculpture

This is indeed a superb piece by glass maker master Archimede Seguso. Spanning a wide range of forms and colors, his subject matter included animals and abstract shapes. Born in 1909 in Murano, Italy, he was part of an illustrious legacy of Italian glassmakers, their ancestry spanning over six centuries to the 14th century. Seguso notably led a revival of ancient Venetian glass-making techniques, specifically filigrana, which produced lattice-like patterns. Seguso ran the family business Seguso Vetri d’Arte, from 1937 to 1942. The artist died in 1999 in his hometown of Murano, Italy. The Seguso company continues to produce glass, with works included in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Italian ModernistFratelli Fancillacci Bitossi Fantoni Era Huge Lamp. Here is a very large and rare mid century modern Italian lamp. Beautiful lavender high glossglaze center, depicting a modern Italian woman. Her image repeated 11 times, each alternating facing forward, and the other with her backside, separated by 2 trees. The top and bottom is a flat brown clay with extreme fine lines. The top of the lamp is black painted wood, as well as the base. The crown is white glass and brass. Superb condition, no chips or age cracks. Marked 8861 Italy, the style is that of Raymor, Bitossi, Gambone, Fantoni the artist is Fratelli Fancillacci. Large Rare Mid Century Amphora Table Lamp Shown in Edward Wormley Dunbar Catalog

I’ve owned and have been intrigued by this handsome lamp for some time, but my intrigue grew when thumbing through my “Fine Furniture of the 1950s” book and seeing it displayed on page 25 in an ad alongside a Wormley-designed sofa and his iconic model 5309 coffee table. If this lamp was chosen as an accessory to those pieces, its quality and design must be on par with them (or so goes my thinking). The body appears to be made of plaster, the exterior of which seems to have been finished in a coat of lacquer. The disc-form plinth base is made of wood. I see no signatures or marks. If you know who made this piece and would like to share information, I’d be happy to hear from you. Dimensions: 36 tall, as displayed. Body (not including wood base) measures approximately 18″ tall and is roughly 15″ wide at its widest point. Wood base measures 11 in diameter and is about an inch thick. Condition: good condition, consistent with age and use. We see no cracks or repairs, but there are some inconsequential flecks and chips here or there. The lacquer is lifting in two areas around the wriggly ridge. Shade is not included. Will need to be rewired and fitted with new hardware. Thank you for viewing our items!
